This case and plot as explained by PLO Lumumba does not just sound childish but also quite idiotic. Both Mbarire and Lumumba thought they were setting up the other, in the classic prisoner’s dilemma context. But the idiocy in the case is the rush by PLO Lumumba to the cameras in order to create the impression that he is the cleverer of the two. Yet we know that the truth will emerge after Mbarire’s husband and the CID give their own versions of the story for the report to be more balanced.
