  • oh....you....you just can´t let me go ¿could you? XD.

  • 0:43

You'll be in a pot of Jello forever.

  • i still use the quote to this day, "This is what happens when a unstoppable force meets an immovable object." jst matches up with many things i do.

  • im sorry but Batman's voice is just CRAP

  • @GermanPunkedAmerica

Nah its pretty awesome here. Its just that he's tired so that mixes in with his gruff voice. Its understandable

  • wow i think im sick because ive been watching Batman Dark Knight clips for 3 months !

  • i dont think the joker should be recasted imo. i seriously doubt that there is another actor alive who can deliver such a spine chilling and terrifying performance as ledger did. any future joker imo will only go down hill (nobody wants to see a joker who thinks hes funny). as a dedication to ledger, it would be best imo if the joker stopped here. ''i think you and i are destined to do this forever'' is an epic way to end it, since it will truly will never end (cuz ledger is dead).

  • I wish I could go back to the day when I saw this movie in theaters........what a night....

  • I heard somewhere that he was suppose to be in a couple more scenes towards the end but then he died so they had to just end it at this one. Nevertheless this scene will go down in history for the last time we ever see an amazing actor do such an AMAZING job on playing the joker, its sad knowing that we'll never see his amazing acting again, i just hope they don't try to replace him but at the same time i wanna see more joker :( FUCK why did he have to die :'(

  • foreshadowing...

  • @runningfreak244

I shouted that in the theater lmao

    people....got pissed :D

  • Comment removed

  • you cut out the laugh 8(

  • i know all the lines in this scene.. it is my fav in the entire movie :)

  • I cant understand a word batman is saying lol....

  • 1:21 is a frickin boss look. the part where his face is shadowed.

  • I love how Joker waves his arms around like he's swimming in the air!

  • Christian Bale ruins this scene

  • @dandevrell I blame it on Nolan's decision to digitally alter Bale's Batman voice. He sounded fine in Batman Begins. But it did really ruin his voice so maybe he couldn't do it anymore but still he should have gone calmer on the pitch.

  • Am i the only one who hates this batman's voice just doesnt sound right

  • @kaibeyblade it would be realistic if batman sounded different so know would be able to reconize bruce wayne

  • legend. rip

  • RIP Heath Ledger </3

  • 0:37 no forshadowing there huh?

  • hear the laugh at the end?

  • @afriendofbean Milan and bale have both said this is there last batman movie. The dark knight is only to be a trilogy so no fourth movie

  • Since on the Tim Burton Batman movies with Jack Nicholson as the Joker, Jack Nicholson's name was Jack Napier before he became the Joker and it showed how Jack Nicholson became the Joker by falling into a container of chemicals. So, I wonder why it never showed how Heath Ledger became the Joker and it never explained if Heath Ledger's name was Jack Napier for this movie. His first scene only showed Heath Ledger as the Joker interupting a meeting without showing how he became the Joker.

  • @afriendofbean Nicholson's joker back story was loosely based on the batman comic "The Killing Joke". In this comic, it showed that the joker was a failed comedian who did one paid job for the mob under the guise of the "Red Hood", this Red Hood was always hired as an amateur but made to look like the mob leader. But even in this comic the joker reveals that he prefers his past to be "multiple choice" and I think that's why they made it this way for Ledger's joker. Isn't the mystery better?

  • @Mrbladerade I actually didn't know about that about Jack Nicholson's and Heath Ledger's Jokers. I agree, the mystery is great.

  • 0:40 The entire audience groaned and I died a little inside when he said that.

  • Joker is full of crap. He told Harvey Dent in the hospital scene that he is no schemer and he has no plans.... Guess what! This joker is a schemer of all schemer! And he definitely has plans.....

  • @filmweaver No, he doesn't. He just rolls with the punches.

  • I mean Batman just left him hanging there. If Heath didn't die, it'd be easy to explain that Joker found a way to free himself for the next movie

  • so what DID happen to Joker at the end? was he just left there to be taken in to Arkham Asylum? did he drop to his death?

  • @ShadowCrowX Arkham Asylum

  • @zeromant 80 no thats not true, heath was able to finish shooting everything, in his last interview he states that he finished filming for the dark knight which was like 2 months before his death.

  • In the original cartoons he became mad by breathing this green gas that makes u laugh uncontrollably and go mad

  • ".. and I brought him down to our level. You see, madness, as you know, is like gravity.. all it takes is a little push!" haha, Joker thinks Batman is crazy too! Two-Face got his "push" or "madness" from the killing of Rachel, Batman got his from the murder of his parents. Where Joker got his madness from, no one really knows..

  • @DemiathDoomhammer I like to think he got his madness due to something that batman did which would explain y he is so obsessed with him

  • @MrKinkypanther it's not open ended, if the clip carries on a few seconds you see the police turn up

  • "I think you and I... are destined to do this forever"

Best line in the history of movies... I wish this would go on forever!!

  • The sad thing is that Heath died and he didn't finish his remained scenes of the movie, i mean, he died and there was a couple scenes to record, that's why Nolad had to rewrite the movie and that made Two-face died.

  • i hope people know that Christian Bale isn't responsible for his "batman voice". he didn't do it as harsh in this movie but when it went to editing it was Christopher Nolan's idea to make it more harsh. Don't believe me? look it up on IMDB

  • "Madness is the emergency exit. You can just step outside, and close the door on all those dreadful things that happened. You can lock them away... forever."

  • it's still so hard to believe that heath ledger died after doing such an amazing job with this film, and it's gonna be such a shame that we'll never see this joker come back.

  • "I think you and I are destined to do this forever."

It's such a shame that that won't be the case. I'm pretty sure Nolan intended for Joker to return for Dark Knight Rises until Ledger died. It's really awkward watching this scene, leaving it on a cliffhanger that will never be resolved. It's hard to just brush it aside and say that he was locked up, end of. This is Joker we're talking about!

  • @Nogli as much as that makes sense. i lyk it better this way. cuz joker is part of batman's "year one". and this is only the beginning. and it makes sense that way cuz the way this joker is designed it might take months or even a year for him to escape arkham. but i do think ur POV is pretty smart tho.

  • @Nogli he didn't just brush him aside. Heath had COMPLETELY finished his role as the joker before he died. and when i say completely, that includes posters and promotional clips. His arrest was written into the script so the ending wasn't really a cliffhanger are something thrown together. but it was rumored that heath had sleeping problems after playing the joker. i can see why since to prepare for the role he locked himself in a room for a month and read stories about a psychopathic killer.

  • @Nogli yea gotta say it really sucks

  • @Nogli Well the way to wrap it up in my mind is one of two ways. either you just imagine he gets killed somehow, being the agent of chaos he is im sure he wouldn't mind, or and this may seem a little off til you try it, watch 'the joker blogs'. a mate told me bout it & by god they're pretty darn good. dont expect ledger MKII but he's good, the story line is great and its very professional. I imagine its what happened to the joker after TDK, it sits well with me and im a massive TDK fan :)

  • @Nogli I think they should have reedited the scene so the joker fell laughing to his death, without the part where batman saved him, that would have been awesome and a characteristic end of the joker.

  • @Nogli

I don't know. Nolan claimed he was always iffy on a sequel to this and, had he chosen, they certainly could've recast the role as they did with Rachel. Still, I do feel sad that the character won't be back in this series.

  • "It wasn't hard" lol so funny

  • GAAAAHH!! I HATE HIS VOICE!!

  • Always telling jokes. Even when he's hanging upside down from 3 stories. Good ol' Joker.

  • that was funny haha. "This is what happens when a unstoppable force meets an immovable object"

  • you cut out the most important part of this scene, his manic laugh at the end. this shows that he has truly gone into the deep end.

  • @chadbjj yes exactly!! every clip i have found has cut the damn insane laugh off! GRR!!

  • why does he talk like this when just him and the joker are there

  • @PhilosophyOne I gotta admit gothbabii188 is right what kind of person googles on Gotham and furthermore your jokes are maaaaaad stupid you're the one who has no life. You need to learn to stop judging other peoples's opinions and you don't even have the love of knowledge cuz if ya say you're smart why would google gotham? -__-

  • It just takes one push....

  • When Heath Ledger played the role of the Joker, he should inhaled some laughing gas.

  • I know the actor died, but did Joker get killed or arrested?

  • @sushiboyjunya arrested...

  • @sushiboyjunya it didn't show you I'm guessing so

  • Gotham does EXIST IDIOTS!! Its called modern day NEW YORK CITY! A LONG TIME AGO IT WAS CALLED GOTHAM

  • @thecico12345 No you are wrong.

  • @DjangoEX

Actually, he's right and YOU are wrong. New York City was nicknamed Gotham during the 19th century. It appeared in a lampoon about NYC's politics and culture by Washington Irving. Look up "Gotham City" on wikipedia.

  • @TheBullMoose95 Gotham City in comics is not new york city so yeah if you wanna talk historically go ahead but I'm pretty sure we were talking about DC fiction here.

  • @DjangoEX

Comics? Good Heavens leave me out of it.

  • @TheBullMoose95 What did you expect on a movie about batman?

  • This is all fake cause Gotham doesn't even exist. I Google Mapped it.

  • @PhilosophyOne duh it's a movie dumbass

  • @FlameShieldKing1 you obviously missed the joke a fakin troll. go move to gotham city why dont ya

  • @PhilosophyOne the joke isn't really funny anyways.

  • @FlameShieldKing1 then why u gettin all faggoty about nonfunny jokes? get a life

  • @PhilosophyOne Yeah the joke was decent. but this guy doesn't have to be a huge ass.

  • @PhilosophyOne who said i was going all "faggoty". learn how to say a decent joke before you say a joke that might piss people off.

  • @PhilosophyOne oh my gawd you Google Mapped it?! you're so badass!

that was sarcasm. we ALL know Gotham city isn;t real! whod doesn't beside little kids?!?!

  • @gothbabii188 you are a dumbass, sorry "goth babii"

  • @PhilosophyOne first, my sister made the account when i was younger, i liked it then, now i dont give a shit and im not going to change it :) but if your name has the word Philosophy in it, i would've figured you're smart enough to figure that out

  • @gothbabii188 "Philosophy" is best defined as "the love of knowledge", which is why I have no love for you whatsoever. If you want the last word in this little argument, then go right ahead. This is the last you'll hear from me though.

  • The biggest joke the Joker made of all in this film: "you just couldn't let me go could you", they probably considered this scene as a near miss of killing him off the same way Nicholson's Joker died; with a fall, but they wanted to keep on to him for future roles; well the biggest joke the Joker pulled there is ruining their 'little plan' there also by dying in real life. Now that's getting into the role.

  • @Raflegan method acting at its finest

  • @Raflegan What an ugly comment.

Thematically speaking, Batman killing the Joker would have meant Batman is no hero: Joker wins.

Realistically speaking, Ledger had health problems and had screen considerations beyond "The Dark Knight." Reverence is one thing, but are you honestly suggesting that Ledger committed suicide to ruin Nolan's then-unplanned third film?

  • Comment removed

  • @Raflegan That makes me more relieved. Sorry if I was too abrasive, thanks for clarifying.

  • @SmallGreenPlanetoid That's OK. Abrasion makes the world go 'round. It's akin to friction.

  • CAPS LOCK!

  • YOUGUYS COMMENT NOTHING BUT TRIVIALITIES. WHY DONT YOU BETTER ANALIZE THE CONTEXT THEME OF THE MOVIE SPECIALLY OF JOKER CHARACTER...

  • @danredentor CAPS MAKE YOU SOUND COOLER!

  • i wonder how nolan will involve the joker in the next movie, theyll mention him for sure near the start but obviously not put anyone in to replace Heath.

  • La locura como sabrás es como la gravedad solo se necesita un pequeño empujón. :O

  • His laugh is so awesome you can't recreate it by typing or by anyone else. It is rightfully reserved to the ghost of Heath Ledger

  • Fuck I hope Nolan gets Bail to knock off the over the top "Batman Voice" he started doing in this film. It really was in my opinion the only bad part of this movie.

  • @CynicalSavior absolutely correct

  • @CynicalSavior indeed.

  • The joker won.

  • batman seems to have a serious case of asma.... :s

  • @Senseless00

You mean asthma yes, but his voice needs to sound different from that of Bruce Wayne

  • "See madness, as you know, is like gravity. All you need is a little push! Hahahaha!"

  • Smile:) For The JOKER!

  • Put under arest and put in arkem asylem

  • Did the joker actually die? cuz they never showed it. And I don't think those SWAT guys who came in would have let him go.

  • @highwaystar1009 That is also something I would like to know. I know that Heath Ledger who played as the Joker died in real life but, it's unknown what happened to him on the last scene. Once Batman walked away and the SWAT team came and pointed guns at the Joker, it's unknown whether they shot him, arrested him, or kept him hanging upside down. (My guess is that he was shot and died but, it was cut out of the movie because the director probably felt sad since he died in real life).

  • @afriendofbean Or an ending that would make more sense is that he was arrested since the SWAT team didn't shoot on sight. It leaves it open so they could bring the Joker back in a later film.

  • @StandardRacing That would be great too since I know that the Joker was arrested in the middle of the movie. After the scene with the SWAT team pointing guns at the Joker, I know the next scene was Harvey Dent/Two Face confronting Batman and Detective Jim Gordon to kill them but, with Jim Gordon being a detective, the SWAT team should have contacted him on his walkie talkie (if he had one) telling him whether they shot or arrested the Joker and it wouldn't confuse the people watching the movie

  • @StandardRacing One other thing since I ran out of characters in my last message.

It would be great if they used the Joker in another Batman film, and I know they are making a 3rd Batman film called "The Dark Knight Rises" but, the Joker is not the villain on the movie. Instead the villain is going to be "The Catwoman." (I was surprised why they were going to use "The Catwoman" since I heard they were going to avoid "The Catwoman" and "The Penguin" as the villains on other Batman movies).

  • @afriendofbean actually the primary villain is going to be Bane. Catwoman is gonna be more secondary.

  • @joshluvscookies That's also good to know on who will be the villain. Maybe Bane will be the bad guy leader and "The Catwoman" will be the henchman of Bane. If they make a fourth film, it would be nice if they used "The Penguin" and "The Riddler" as the villains even though it was mentioned that "The Catwoman" and "The Penguin" won't be used as villains since nobody cared for those villains which was said. (I thought Danny DeVito and Michelle Pfeffer played a good Penguin and Catwoman).

  • @afriendofbean unfortunately, according to the teaser trailer, The Dark Knight Rises is gonna be the conclusion to the story..... :(

  • @joshluvscookies It's too bad that they won't be making anymore Batman films after "The Dark Knight Rises." They should have had "The Joker" on "Batman Begins" since on the "Batman" film with Michael Keaton, the guy who killed Bruce Wayne's parents was "The Joker" and the guy on "Batman Begins" who killed Bruce Wayne's parents should have been "The Joker." Not having a comic book villain on "Batman Begins" was a waste. "The Scarecrow" and "Ras Al Goul" might not be comic book villains.

  • i dont love this movie only because ledger acting, i love this movie because the story was excelent, the music was amazing, and all the charaters are like the comics, this movie was one of the best on movie history.

im mexican so maybe my english is not very well. i hope you understand me

  • @star88wars Fuck you Bitch!

  • @emanuelbull hey why you say that?

  • Brilliant scene, Heath Ledger will alway's go down as the Joker....

  • batman is one of the stupidest 'heros' ever made.

  • @daspoon456 with some of the best villians ever thought of

  • @guyofda90s well one for sure, alot of his villans are pretty queer too.

  • @guyofda90s so youy think scarecrow/catwomen/hugo strange/firefly/poison ivy/ras al ghul/red hood/the riddler /ink/ gentlemen ghost/ glayface/ zsasz are queer?

  • @daspoon456 who in the hell care about your opinion! you don't like Batman is simple don't watch it or read it you dumbfuck!...

  • @emanuelbull lol wow, just stating my thought on it. ive never read it anyway. and who cares about your thoughts on it? no one.

  • @daspoon456 whatever idiot! like said i don't care what you have to say!! and i pretty sure nobody care your opinion!! lol stupid ass....

  • @emanuelbull hmmmm, just because i dont like batman movies that means im dumb? strange world

  • For some reason the Joker reminds me of Darth Sidious from Revenge of the Sith in this scene. Not sure why, maybe the really dark eye sockets?

  • through this film i thought the joker looked nothing like heath because of the makeup but in this scene i think it does look like heath! rip heath.. you were a legend actor!!

  • 0:44

You'll pee in a vat of jello forever

  • all it takes is just one bad day...

I wonder if anyone knows as to what i mean?

  • @krazykool23 The Killing Joke.

  • @krazykool23 THat's where Heath got the idea of a different origins story.

  • @TheVoidedPresence

its a great read for sure. Also have u read the Long Halloween? U can see the similarities in how Batman, Gordon and Harvey Dent all agreed to do what it takes to rid the city of the corruption and crime its infested with.

  • @krazykool23 Ohh yes. I have read the long halloween. Also a great read. The meeting scene of the police headquarter roof was taken directly from it.

  • @TheVoidedPresence

yeah it was pretty amazing, another reason Christopher Nolans Batman movies where so good. He respected the source material and what Batman is about, unlike the Joel Schumacher and the crap that was Batman and Robin for example

  • @krazykool23

    The Killing Joke. =D

  • @krazykool23 trust me I know

  • @krazykool23 Any decent Joker fan would know what you mean xD

  • @krazykool23 one of my favorite comics the killing joke

  • @lukesta12

    no doubt about it

  • @krazykool23 That comic is awesome..

  • @krazykool23 Well if Gordon has a bad day today. Wait until the Joker really wants to give him one. Yet I found this odd seeing how young is daughter in this movie is.

  • @krazykool23 i know what u mean in 100%

  • This scene is deep as fuck because it explains that some people can't be tamed (The Joker) and for some unknown reason, people don't kill the bastards that deserve to be killed (like him) in a world full of civilized people.

  • @EventuallyWeMerge wouldnt that make us worse for killing? you cant prove someone did something horrible by killing. it just starts the cycle over again

  • heath died by a over drug use by drugs i mean medicin

  • heath died by a over drug use by druds i mean medicin

  • The joker -3

Heath, your acting is beyond brilliant.

  • What do they do to the Joker after this?

  • @TheIssue26

If I'm not mistaken, I believe that the Joker is taken to Arkham Asylum (again). From there, I think he's either killed by The Riddler, or teams up with him? However, the next Batman film will focus on Riddler.

  • @AnimatorsCurse The main villain in that is actually Bane. There is no Riddler, as far as I know.

  • The Joker has always made sense with whatever he says about things. Madness is like gravity, all it takes is a little push. That is true. Its easy to turn someone into someone they dont show. Its easy to mess with peoples inner self. Easy to change people. People think hes insane but thats cause he shows reality rather then talk about it cause people dont listen when one talks. If someone trys to steal from a bank by asking they say no but if you put a gun to theyr head they cooperate better.

  • @BloodyFlesh626 Very true, and the scary thing about the Joker isn't so much the fact that he's a terrorist but the fact that he's a psychological-terrorist. He is like Batman's equal-and-opposite on an extremely fucked-up level because he exists....well, because of Batman, The Joker exists. Almost like Neo and Agent Smith in The Matrix.........Two peas in a pod, but the Joker is a disgusting (but well-acted) terrorist and Batman is a guardian. This movie is a tragedy for that reason.

  • 0:21 I don't know why but this is the moment you can tell the most that there's Heath Ledger's face under all that make-up.

  • @Cavstic yeah thats exactly what i thought too haha

  • See what people dont understand that the Joker and Batman were the same the only difference from the 2 were that the Joker killed people and Batman didn't.

  • @MrSnackization To be honest, a lot of people think that. It's been shoved in the face of comic book readers for years.

Besides, killing people and not killing people is a pretty significant difference. You could also add differences in that Batman will save people's lives and the Joker won't. Batman believes in justice and redemption (Harvey Dent, anyone?) and the Joker doesn't. The list is rather long, and we shouldn't trivialize well-shaped characters.

  • @crabbieappleton Well your are right not going lie about that. But, the point I was trying to apply was that there both mentally psycotic and ruthless.

  • "I think you and I are destined to do this forever." :(

    RIP Heath

  • @Theseriousjoker13 i dont think so..batman sounds just like he is horny now... lol

  • @brandonw1693 No such thing.

  • @brandonw1693 how about The Joker ends up throwing Batman off the building .. batman is dead .. joker wins .. " Ace In The Hole "

  • After 1:51, I would've impaled Joker with those shuriken like batarangs, but as we all know, mainstream batman is about that *eyeroll*

  • Batman sounds like christopher walken with a head cold

  • Seriously.

    NOBODY won.

Batsy is a vigilante on the run now because he chose a stalemate against Joker. A STALEMATE against a MADMAN. He seriously didn't have to play into this entire setup Joker produced, but because Joker is such a manipulator of the human psyche, he KNEW Batsy would have to play into it.

Joker proved a point, he played a game with Batman, and I think in the end, he did win in his own way. But Batman also took something away from it.

  • Anyone think that the Joker was gonna cut the rope and kill himself?

  • Batman sounds like he s got asthma throughout the entire movie, anyone agree?

  • do you knodfvdsgzdvzgdfgdgeghedhjhshazvvbssdvdvdd

  • All the other jokers in the other movies like the 60s and 80s movies suck balls.

The dark Knight is the joker that is the best.

  • Comment removed

  • @fuckgd1 My 9 year old son wrote that, but no way was Ledgers Joker a Crow ripoff. Fuck, was THAT movie (The Crow) overrated, or what?
