I thinking of upgrading to a better amp head. I'm gonna use a mesa cab but Im divided between getting a rectifier or a Peavey 6505/5150+. I know that the Peavey is tighter and more clarity with gain and that the rectifier is better toned and warmer when saturated. However I have heard that mesa's lose a lot of clarity when turned up all the way and that although the peavey is not nearly as good as a recto it holds up better at high volumes and is much cheaper. Can U give me your opinion on it?
why do you have an epiphone explorer and a mesa dual rectifier? if you have enough cash to buy a great amp, why settle on such a cheap guitar? get one of the 90's lawsuit esp explorers.
God, are all these DR "tests" "watch me play metal because the distortion makes me sound better than I am"? Everyone knows they are metal machines. What else will it do? Talk about self-indulgent.
Rizzy below is spot on. Follow his advice and do another take. Currently the sound is lacking body and fullness, with too much buzz/fizz. Keep it at it.
Yeah..listen...forget how the amp sounds in the room because the 57 will make it sound different. The way to do it is isolate yourself from the amp and listen to your monitors while someone else switches the dials on the amp. But just from listening--turn down the treble and turn up the mids because its just buzzy and thin now
yeah emgs are kinda a pain to put in your self lmfao me and my dad put some in my epiphone Sg, and the wires barley fit, theres 2 wires, and then you got the battery and it just adds alot more so yeah. but they sound nice. i wish i could get a mesa duel rec. lol i use a digitech rp100 processor and it has a mesa duel rec. setting on it and it sounds so fucking sweet. great vid dude
is that tricky or just piece a cake, im asking because im soon going to buy another guitar and it might be the Explorer and then install those EMG pickups
well kinda both... it comes with the pictures on how to wire everything and i did exactly what it said but it didnt work so i just sent it off to a professional
If your any good with directions and know how to use a soldering iron its not bad. I installed a Kerry King set on my les paul...basically the 81/85 combo with a gain switch and the 18v mod...didnt need a shop. Never changed pickups other than that
the only difference between the dual and triple is the wattage. the dual recto has 100 watts and the triple recto has 150 watts which means its waay louder
thanks and do u know the price of both...? and nice tone... cuz i think actually to buy a gibson les paul and a jackson rr3 randy rhoads or the triple or dual rectifeir and a cabinet ut i have actually bought a new amp (line 6 spider 3 75 watts...) what do u think that ull rather take between these 2 choices?
actually it was in channel 2 in vintage, I dont really like modern, but since i had little mids it made it sound like modern, im still working on getting the sound right
Hmm i really dont think thats a rectifyer. And if it is, sort it out, less gain, better EQ
