i wrote a thesis in grad school on morrison n blake. brilliant poet. morrison was a disciple of nietszche u can hear alot of where jims ideas were born in thus spake zarathustra. morrison freed my consciousness n gave me awareness
I remember getting this cassette tape in 1980 when I was in the Navy. I listened to it religiously every day and it made me write poetry and drink like a fish. For awhile there I became base Atsugi's Jim Morrison. On the day I left Japan I as usual got drunk the night before and wrote on the side of the barracks wall JIM MORRISON LIVES.
What a message weaver! I love the way brother Jimmy weaves his true message inbetween seemingly insane lyrics. He has done this since album one.
The indians would never kill the insane white man on horse back mubbling to his self on his way to the gold and society didn't take brother Jimmy serious enough to stop him untill he had allready spread his message.......TOOO COOOL!!! Do you know we are being led to slaughter's.............
@Jerry4050 "We got our final vision by clout, Columbus's growing got filled with green death. I touched her thigh and death smiled." Fucking brilliant.
Do you know the warm progress under the Stars? Do you know we exist? Have you forgotten the keys to the Kingdom? Have you been born yet and are you alive?
I think all of us must ask these questions. We of the Sun-Dome and the Night!!!
The man who posted this for me doesn't realize that this poem doesn't offend me. It is a Dark and Twisted poem much like Poe. I respect Morrison and the thought of someone using this for their own words simply has no style of their own. Morison's words are his own . Sorry Lermo but do not compare yourself to Morrison. He is The One and Only. Furthermore I suggest that you listen to the full version of it to fully appreciate it ..

@OcelotPwns Hey dude. If going political on a dead man's political poems constitutes rape then we are all rapists. Or, would you rather I shut up? Shall I turn myself in for reeducation? Viva Che?
The entire "American Prayer" album is the best album ever,
Simply because the Poëtry and the music are in balance. To bad Jim was already dead by then. Lucky they have many studio recordings of Jim Morison saying his poets, because after all he is one of the greatest poets of the 20th century as far as i am concerned. And its always best to hear the poet say his own poets in his own ritem, Thats why i love this album, Gives an extra dimension.
The song that's used for this poem is called "the ghost song". These songs are also included in the "american prayer" album. One at the beginning (2nd in the track list) and one at the end (23rd in the track list). The first one is 02:50min long and it's an intro to "Dawn's Highway". The 2nd is longer (05:16) and it just works as a good memory for this great, poetic and so emotional album;-)
@blackleejack I think parts of it may be on "The Lost Paris Tapes". There's some torrent downloads around for it. I used a bunch of tracks from that to create my "Poetry of Jim Morrison" video.
A master of the mind.. We can only pretend to recognise the understanding he showed. Can we imagine the love, can we imagine the sensuality . 2011 needs Jim. I need Jim Death makes angels of us all. Yeah too true. And people are strange.
lol, up2space! thats pretty hilarious! I think Jim would have argued that point though, i think he was beyond religion as point of debate or status...I understand your parallell however; strangely enough; in the sence that many of the more secular or even pagan artists of the sixties did meet unfortunate demises. I believe however these "jews" you speak of...were drugs and alcohol! Which i unfortunately know more about than most of the theologies.
if jim knew what the truth was he would have said it. so goes that theory as far as im concerned. was jm killed by the jews? not because of his dad. because of what jim learned as he went along. one day in his liquored fury he would have said something "anti-semitic" ho ho the jews couldn't allow that to happen. given the course of rock music, i would say that was the #1 concern why all these rocksters were assassinated. cause they were sick & tired of the .... blank blank jews!
The Doors...ah the summer of '67. the following winter and moonlight ride...those were the days. I only have one Doors item left over from all those years....the article from Look magazine about Morrison getting arrested in New Haven, Conn. It's yellowed and wrinkled but then aren't we all.
@aurorarosaspina hockeyboy said... "lets see lady gaga do something like this" and though i do not believe she can make something as good... she could and would definitely try.. and people would love it. they would believe it was her that thought of it. and theyd think she was so smart for it. so Im glad with the way things are.. with lady gaga doing her thing and not stealing jim's stuff.
@fatkid451 Will people stop talkong about Lady gaga. She is a pop artist. A talentless pop artist. she does not deserve to be in the same sentence as Jim.
When Jimmie Morrison says "When the true kings murderers are allowed to roam free a thousand magicians arise in the land" is about JFK's assassination and the majicians are the "Conspiracy Theorists" that can't accept that all 3 bullets came from the 6th floor of the school book depository like when your beliefs about Kennedy's Assassination are that of a school boy...Dan O'Niallain
