  • @1996icedtea - for your information, the horse "Tutein" (I think a dutch bred gelding) was buried on the Lewis's farm. All great horses deserve to have a grave.

  • The martingale was to fwd...maybe thats what broke the rein? And could also explain kids psychoness because it restricted his head to.much

  • A bit too much horse!! A super keen jumper though... wow!

  • God that horse was psyco!

  • I think she done fantastically! She's got an incredible seat, and saw a stride to a fence that she didn't even mean to come to. She never got annoyed or smacked him when she got off. Well done to her I say.

  • That horse has a gift. Its unfortunate that he is hot headed, and unfortunate that the rein broke. My opinion on the matter is that he has been hard to stop for so long that rein has been getting beaten and beaten and now it finally broke.

This is why I always practice a One Rein Stop.

  • @tymerisontheinternet I do that too! :D

  • I think that horse need a stronger bit...or a double. something

  • @equistera agreed. lol You'd think that would have been obvious to annette

  • The horse was notoriously known for how strong and phsyco it was to jump. It washis style. End of really. I'd love to see anyone else try ride it round tbh. Unless you're jumping round that level, opinions slating riders don't really count.

  • @naughtyneigh Can only agree with this! All these people slating her, I would love to see them ride the horse over those jumps! I shit myself doing 60cm on a quiet horse lol!!

  • @rodnrach Im doing 3'6" on my 6 yr old right now. Gives me shivers, but I love it. Cant wait to go higher!

  • wow, it sucks that her rein broke, but she was pulling on it so hard the entire time I don't feel too bad because no one got hurt.

  • @sportsbabe27 yeah but did u see how much the actual horse was pulling her! she really needed to pull the reins that hard! i wouldve been terrified if my rein broke while jumping my horse over a course and hes fairly quiet! but it would be almost impossable to stop, cause it a horse is being awkward u need ur other rein to turn too!

  • @sportsbabe27 its horrible when your horse goes skitz and you cant stop lol

  • doy ou think the crowd knew wha was happening? cause they applauded when she went over that one jump at the end

  • @equistera They applauded her cause she went over a fence with one rein. I thought that was obvious.

  • The nasty moment still gives me shivers!

  • Fantastic videos you have - where did you get all the old stuff and do you have any more??

  • ....i don't really know what to say about her jumping.

But i'm glad that she's okay cause that could have been really serious

  • Oh, ok, good!

  • Annette Lewis and Tutein were British International Showjumpers and represented Great Britain on Nations Cups Teams. Plus won lots of competions including the Hickstead Derby Trial 1988

  • je moet hier geweest in de jaren 1988

  • crikey!!! that was frightening when her reins broke, and tutein carried on over that fence as she grabbed onto the cheek piece!! :O :O jeez...well ridden annette!!!

christ...so scary! tutein just wouldnt come back to her, must be very strong! xxx

  • She just couldn't catch a break! Broken rein... falling off the bank... wow!

  • that was so scary the way she carried on over the jump holding onto the cheek piece!!! and so dangerous.. how did the rein break?

  • that was her style and it worked for her. a lot of people ride in the one style now it's so boring to watch "like robots" and the horses all go the one way, boring no characters like Ryan's Son or Jappeloup - maybe just Okidoki !!

  • The style, as in a week lower leg and pinching with her knees?

  • OMG how did she stay on her riding position was dreadful her legs were everyway fairplay to her for hanging on when the reins broke though have to say she was brave

  • Tutein jumped from the top of the bank one year if I remember correct!

  • @prestonwasntmad now that's footage i'd love to see...

  • Thanks a million for posting!!! I remember this sooo clearly watching it live on the telly!

    Great horse and rider ...
