i fing it quite amusing how some people can actually come and say that the poor are responsible for being in the position they are in. you shouldnt blame someone for making the choices the make. people make choices with the knowledge they have. what you should do is get involved and actually do something to fight corruption and ignorance.
the capitalists are in the position they are in because they were led there, just like the ones holding them up were also led to their possition.
Great video buddhagem; been trying to keep with your videos and others alike with the little time i have had for youtube recently; but i like what your doing here, keep up the good work!.
I remember when Reagan started the modern wave of homelessness in the 80s. Never occurred to me to call the homeless encampments back then Reaganvilles but that would have been an appropriate name. I know it's worsening, but it's sad that so many Americans have come to consider it just a normal feature of the landscape. The modern homelessness problem dates only to the 1980s and it was the result of deliberate Reaganite policy decisions. It doesn't have to be this way and it has been different.

That got a lot of publicity so that's what most people remember, but it was part of a larger program of slashing all kinds of social programs, from food stamps to drug treatment centers to welfare, and moving the money to military, prisons, and police. It was across-the-board cuts to social spending that resulted in the homeless problem. Sadly, we now also consider massive slashes to social programs normal, even though they also date in their massive form only to the Reagan years.
I don't understand how you do this. The money to "buy" these homes is lent out of thin air. It is an abstraction created by the fact that these people signed a piece of paper saying they would pay it back. Now that they are unable to pay back this abstraction the very real house is taken. And somehow you think both sides are to blame for this? One side are living in tents in the richest nation on earth; the other side had to adjust their abstract wealth. You lost me on this one.
and yet there are still those that say things are okay.
they are either idiots or the rich that are profiting from all this. . . . . and still there are others that bend over backwards to blame it on the liberals. . . . go figure.

I haven't seen any of this on tv. I know it's happening but not on this level. This is scary stuff that can easily happen to any one of us.

Notice how it's the BBC, i.e. not an American TV station, reporting on what's really happening.

It's ALWAYS the BBC! It was the BBC in Bhagdad. It' was the BBC in Kuwait! It was the BBC in Darfur. It was the BBC in NewOrleans after Katrina!!
YOU don't hear what happens to the people who "couldn't afford those expensive homes in the first place"-George W.
This is the VERY FIRST time I've seen that these people did just go to apartments!!
I swear, America is shit! I THOUGHT these people lost their homes and got apartments. THEY'RE ON THE FRIGGIN' STREETS?!!!

An older woman in one of my nursing classes said Reagan started it when he kicked the mentally ill out of institutions and they were left homeless.

I'm not aware of any lenders offering a three hundred thousand dollar home for eight hundred a month. That surely is not the case.
