  • Mr. Crowley?? o_O

  • @ThyCrucifier Yes, during the Blizzard of Ozz tour, Don Airey was the guy who played keyboards for Ozzy.

  • Thank you Don ;-)

  • And lots of people adfirm that Rudess is the best! They don't hear this!

  • That face in 2.49 hah!

  • fuck that was awesome. all due respect to guitarists, looking at this guy keyboardists deserve hell lot of love in rock.

  • Ozzy Osbourne at the start :L

  • thumbs up if it totaly just blows away mr. crowly...

  • Don Airey is a legend !!!

    Metaaaaaal !!!!

  • 2:36 ?

  • When I was to a Deep Purple concert about a year ago he played the national song of Denmark! I'm from Denmark

  • Kick Ass Don Airey!!

  • Excellent!!

  • always liked Don and Keith

    Emerson..

  • OMG! Don is a fking genius!

  • its mr crowley in the beginning

  • @YourNameHere136 no its not, its Cant Let You Go by Rainbow,he was a member of it

  • anyone know the name of the rag time song that starts just before rondo all turca at 2:17?

  • it's a classic Piano Boogie theme ... don't think it has any name

  • This is... just one guy...but... hell... he gives his instruments the power of a whole orchestra......

    Damn.

  • what kind of Leslie speaker does he use?

  • Comment removed

  • This is a bad keyboard player compair with akCaroll. Search akCaroll on youtube and you will find a montre kid talent, big talent. This is nothing compair with akCaroll. Belive me!

  • i wish i was there to see that

  • wwaaahoooooooooooooooooooooooO!!!!! :DDDDD

  • Si Senior!

  • Why can't people learn to clap their hands on offbeat!?!??!?!?!?! DRives me nuts!

  • Omg, I can hear "Miiister Crowleeey..." from Ozzy.

  • what waveforms do can I use to create that minimoog sound he uses here?

  • @rodrigozamo Saw, sqaure and triangle

  • @vithaj92 thank you so much... been digging this sound for a long time but never got it... cheers

  • @rodrigozamo I'm a little curiopus as to what kind of synthesizer you are playing. Are you playing a complicated synth with alot of waveforms? If that is so, I can recomend some other synthezisers that only contain the classic waveforms (wave, sine, square anmd triangle). The Microkorg, and microkorg XL and the Roland GAIA are two of the newest. You can also check out the Nord Lead, and the Moog Little Phatty (mind you that the Moog is only monophonic, which means you can't play chords).

  • @vithaj92 well I must admit that I am not a keyboard player, I'm really a guitar player but I'm just experimenting with creating textures and sounds with a little M audio keyboard I borrowed from a friend and a minimoog plug in I got from another friend, which has been kind of fun but since I have no idea how to use it I never get the sounds I want... plus the cool thing about this plug in is that it is polyphonic so now I can play chrods too =) thnx for the suggestions though, very helpful

  • @rodrigozamo Well then, I'm glad I could help you out. Good Luck with everything mate.

  • @vithaj92 thnx a lot bro, cheers

  • what's most impressive isn't the fact he can play the acutal songs but change from a song to a totally different song to song without hesitation and make it so naturally!

  • wow. im just speechless! wow. that was amazing. wow.!

  • mr crowley opening?

  • @diorhomme yeah, he was ozzy's keyboardist back then and he was the one who recorded it...

  • I just saw them last night, they didn't play child in time....! But Airey's solo was awesome!

  • Are Purples playing Child In Time on concerts, because I'm going on Deep Purple next month and I would like to know if I would be able to hear my favourite Purple song. :)

  • beginning reminds me of mr. crowley..

  • @rockingrugger it doesn t just remind you of, it IS and is supposed to be the begining of mr. crowley

  • @mazanylisak01 yeah, i realised that later. don airey did write the keyboards for that song in fact.

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOW :)

  • micidiale !!!

  • don rules

  • DEEP PURPLE members really know how to choose the best replacement for ritchie and jon lord!

  • Great solo!

  • this guy is the "x file" of the great 70-80 rock and roll.

in 2006 I talked with he in the DPs concert in Porto Alegre, Gigantinho stadium

I was semi drunk, and he, well, wholl know??

well, I said him "the dark side of the moooooooooooooooog" and he said to me "a ha you know that..!"

and we laughed and laughed a lot

    LOL awesome guy

  • amazing :D

  • my favorite keyboard player, next to warmen

  • ..al diavolo Giovanni Allevi!

.. Giovanni Allevi go to hell!!!

  • seen these last night

  • he is amazing!!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome keyboard player. Love the belly at 1:25+

  • Hes getting old, but hes still absolutely fantastic.

  • He's got a standard keyboard on the bottom and a synthesizer on the top. He uses the regular 88-key keypad for 2 effects. Kick Ass Don Airey!

  • 2:50 - look at that face lmao

  • Not Even Close! Jon Lord and Don Airey both had great solos!

  • totally agree with u, Lord is the Lord of organ

  • thats true , lord was better

  • DON AIREY IS A BEAST!

  • @MovieguruThe

    ohh your are right ^^

but Jon was (so i think ) better

  • AWESOME!

  • 0:25 - 0:30 -> Mr. Crowley (Ozzy Osbourne)

2:37 -> Rondo Alla Turca (Mozart)

    Amazing solo...

  • What's that bit in the opening, it sounds really familiar especially 0:25 - 0:30 , but I just can't remember.

  • Ozzy Osbourne - Mr. Crowley. intro.

  • Isso é Mr. Crowley Introduction

  • QUALSIASI PEZZO SI' ROCK ' N ' ROLL

  • oç

  • HOLY........CRAP! hahaha

  • what is the title and who is the author of classical piece in 2:37?

  • The turkish march by Mozart...

  • There are four great classsic keybaord players, this is one of them, the others being in no particular order, Jon Lord, Kieth Emmerson, and Rick Wakeman

  • don airey really rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Looks like Michael Palin

  • Um cara que toca!

Jon Lord and Don Airey may have studied at the same school of musicians! :)

  • Don, we love you!!!

  • Don Airey is such an is such an awesome keyboardist. He never got the credit that is due to him.He is the best

  • IDOLO sin momentarios

  • mi idolo

  • JON LORD DA BEST!

  • you don't even know how to write his name

  • im wiright right :D

  • Don Airey is a fucking genius when it comes to his solos. There might be better keyboardplayers out there, but Don is still damn good. And this isn't the whole solo, just a part of it..

  • a solo is a solo you can't structure it dude

  • I saw Airey play at the Ventura Theater with Purple. He is good... as damn good as they come but unfortunately he falls in the shadow of guys like Lord, Emerson and Wakeman. Purple was hot that night in '07

  • Such a really great keyboardist, but Deep Purple's man is Jon Lord and I'm not saying this only because he's my favourite keyboard player...

  • OMG;Wow; Such an amazing solo; May even be better than Keith Emerson :)

  • John Lord are the best now..................

  • amazing playing

  • If it sticks in your craw you just have to outplay him. I'll stick to my day job

  • wtf skezza he is if u dont believe me then u r wrong and why would i lie bout that

  • don airey is my uncle lol im george airey also my dad is joint second in charge of hughes and kettner amps, my uncle keith is in the zombies (guitar) and hes plays in mama mia the musical ! currently im learning guitar and we are quite a musical family lol although hes my uncle i still like lord though no one can replace john ! :)

  • I saw Deep Purple in Birmingham in November this year and stayed around afterwards and saw don and roger glover. Don is one of the nicest people ever! Your well lucky to be related to him.

  • rofl, i love when he starts doing shit like Mr Crowley :D

  • airey wrote and performed the keyboard intro to Mr Crowley originally!

  • ofcourse

  • ohh my god...I've seen them yesterday in ravensburg (germany) and he also played this solo and it was unbelivebel....want to see them again soon^^ it was the damn best concert in my life....

  • I love the sound of a Hammond. But as much as I love Don, no one can possibly replace Jon Lord.

  • yes.. Don is doin' it great..

  • Yeah. But he's no Jon Lord. No one, and I mean no one can play Hammond organ like Jon.

  • that's right.. i like Lord to.. But Airey is my favorite that's all

  • Yeah. But Deep Purple without Jon Lord is like Primus without Les Claypool. Jon was essential to the Deep Purple sound.

Don makes a fine replacement though. But he's like a stepdad. Jon Lord will always be like the "real dad", and no one can replace your real dad, no matter how good he [the replacement] is.

  • yeah he WAS.. but now is Don.. and that's that and everybody is happy

  • Yeah. It's not like they can force Jon to come back. I'm just saying it's not the same without him.

Don is an amazing player though. And admittedly, he's filled in quite well. But he's no Jon Lord.

  • Yes. Deep Purple without Lord (and Blackmore) can't be Deep Purple. DP is Blackmore/Lord/Paice.

  • airey was the best "padawan" of Lord

  • @titusttiti: dont forget gillan

  • I prefer Coverdale

  • Coverdale and Hughes brought kind of a more blues- and funk-inspired music when they came to DP, that wasn't quite what the sound of DP is. Many of the Mark 3 songs are good, but not all of them...

  • 'Many of the Mark 3 songs are good, but not all of them...' : I agree with you, but you can tell it about MK II songs.

  • He played "Mr Crowley" intro, cool!

  • amazing

  • He's is one of the best keyboard player in hardrockland...but...he had the looks as an administration klerk..haha

  • wow

  • This was fucking great!!!

  • 総に本当である。ドンAirey は世界次善の策キーボードプレーヤーである(ジョンの主の後で) 。しかし単独これは大きい!

  • straight

  • the only reason i know who this great keyboard player is is from randy rhoads with ozzy back in 1980-1982 and hes wonderful playing crowley at the beginning

  • yeah man its mr crowley............

  • i know..i was just sayin crowley

  • yeah man its mr crowley............

  • He also whitnessed Randy's death right infront of him too.

  • Airey is GREAT! The man is a rock veteran, and has been with so many bands over the years. I must have seen him live about 10 times, and he never fails to entertain.

  • Are you kidding heart ..? hmmm? Well I know what I hear "precise tequnique phrasings definitely to say somewhat accomplished..in his field !

  • i guess with that pompous stuff he does there...he tries to draw off the attention from what lord did... airey is great. no doubt...but what misses is his performance is the heart. it's all about showing technique. that's what airey does...

  • now that was awesome

  • yes is the intro of mr crowley

  • What he is playing at 2.36-3.00? Sounds like beethoven or something

  • Mozart - Turkish March

  • wasn't the intro for mr crowley???

  • he wrote that intro when he was Ozzy's band

  • yes jon lord is very good but in the concert in angers (in fance) 22/11/07..Don AIREY was very very good!!

  • i'm sorry but jon lord is the best!!! this guy is good but he don't make the music like deep purple, exept for a few jazz, he's for dream teathre not for deep purple !!! i want jon Lord againnn!

  • the new jon lord !

  • For those that critizase Don, you should close your mouths and just listen, there's no need to post stupid things, you probably can't play triangle.

  • rick wakemanesque.

  • He is amazing :)

  • I saw Don at the Concert in Zurich this year. He`s really a worthy successor for John.

  • i agree with you i think exactly the same about him

    jon lord rocks!

but airey still a good player

  • I'd be lying if I say that he's not an awesome keyboardist, but I still can't identify him as a member of DP....

  • As I told him, only him could replace Jon Lord. he rocks, and he's a funny guy!

  • fantastic solo!!!!Rock on!!!!!
