  • wow... um... Amazing... so... BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • When it first came out I didn't like it. I thought it was soft...but it grew on me. Yeah, I have to admit, one of the all time funkiest horn pieces ever made. I think this song was also important for introducing Zawinul to the world. Thanks!

  • recorded many yars ago but so uptodate.. .. ..

  • I don't know which versioin I like better, Cannonball's or Buckinghams'!! I love BOTH versions!!!

  • Mercí Mercí Mercí... It's a french song originally!

As in "thank you thank you thank you Mr Adderly for making my day that much better!"

  • 3 peoples have serious problems.

  • genialne! :)

  • would do anything to see this kind of talent live

  • During the 60's I played sax with several bands from Montreal to Thailand, Guam to New York. In Plattsburgh, New York, I played with a coronet player we called Rudy. Mercy, Mercy, Mercy was our top request and though the entire band loved playing it, Rudy and I held it in our hearts! Joe Zawinul charted a masterpiece with this song. No other group has been able to even come close to the richness and out right musical genius afforded this song by Cannonball & company. It's all about the music!!!

  • @jimsandaju... Cannonball & company blessed us with so many gems! Oh and Hafa Adai (hello) from Guam!

  • saw them in this formation, performing this wonderful tune, when I was 16, in vienna. unfortunately there is no live video with mercy, mercy, mercy, of them available. only this studio version, though a great great composition.

  • My mom meet him when they were both in the army. mom was in the WACs Womens Army Core He was know as Fats then. This song make you feel like you are in a night club grovin

  • El tema es del pianista , el gitano checo JOE ZAWINUL ¡¡FORMIDABLE TODO !!

  • Never get tired of this ... makes me happy too....

  • my grandmother loved this tune, i can remember her popping her fingers sayin mercy mercy mercy!

  • Through my life my taste of music has been changing alot.. But one gengre have allways been stuck.. Big up to jazz n funk from a dedicated Hip hop fan.

  • saw him many times at "concerts by the sea" , in redondo beach, ca......great talent!

  • What a classic... thanks for posting this masterpiece...

  • Wonderfull!!! Thank you..!!!!!!

    Sub x Sub

    Thanks again..

    jorge quintero

  • Better than being a rich kid is to be able to pick up a horn and do that!

  • @chrisclement2006 You got it!!! :D I love this tune^^

  • Why is there no "absorbe and live the music" button?

  • @blubbafisch Because you just have to put the music on the right volume, close your eyes and live the music by yourself :)

  • This whole album just smokes. The record label set up a "lounge" in the recording studio and had a private party for the execs and released it is an album. Must be nice to be a snot nosed rich kid.

  • Well there is one that doesn't know what Mercy or doesn't want Mercy. ALL- Time Classic.

  • was hopin for a solo, need to find anothr video.... my jazz bands playin this for our conert, wish we sounded like him lol

  • He passed way too soon. Way too soon.

  • Wish I was slow dancing with my girl to this song!

  • 1:01 WHOO! lol

  • Now that's 3 minutes and 4 seconds of absolute cool!!

  • we play this in band

  • True musicianship, talent, personality, combined with a topnotch composition, it sometimes seems to be a lost art.

  • Where are Canonballs introductory words, about when adversity strikes??

  • @valvetrom Good question..One of the best parts of the song and all of his music was his commentary..Country Preacher..

  • @valvetrom Check out the clip posted by 's0f0nisba'. It has his intro.

  • I had the opportunity and luck to see them in 1966 in Vienna, AEZ-building :-), playing that tune. Great memories!

  • @pianofan2204 lucky!

  • Thank You for the music.....!!!!!!!!!!!

  • SPETtacolare bellissima!!!

  • he was my husband's godfather.

  • its the best!!!

  • I hear this

  • Groovin'

  • cannonball>>>>>>>coltrane

  • One of my first memories is of this song. My mother loves a saxaphone. So, Cannonball and Coltrane were played often by her. I still love it dearly. He made me love jazz. This is as smooth and cool as it gets. @songliver your band teacher is giving you a precious gift. This song is ohhh so special.

  • we're playing this song for our jazz band in school!!!

  • @songliver

    Us too

  • @songliver me 2!

  • MY FAVORITE ....

  • Classic ! THE tune that got me started playing jazz

  • I love the album, " at the lighthouse " also, the harder to find _The Cannonball Adderley Quintet in San Francisco is a 1959 , all great stuff from the west coast jazz scene

  • I miss car radio music back in 1967--it was SO COOL!

  • The E- piano has rhythm !!

    typical for Mr Zawinul

  • 1959 Cannon Ball and 1959 Dave Brubeck what a good year. Mercymercy mercy always played by the highschools in Gary,IN he died here in 1975 just imagine Michael Jackson influence .

  • @adem1000000 That's my hometown and I LOVE this song...on another note, why is Gary so shitty now

  • this is the essence of 'nice'.

  • Music is what feelings sound like

  • @Soon2Busmc Yes, You said that exactly right...;o)

  • @Soon2Busmc thats so wonderful to say that - i couldnt put it better myself, thank you!

  • @Soon2Busmc so... what kinda feelings does Bieber have? (I know, it's blasphemy to mention that name on the video of such an esteemed musician).

  • @osborl12 imagine a woman giving birth. Now imagine the sound of the woman screaming in agony, and the sound of the baby crying as it leaves its temporary 9 month home. Imagine the feeling that the woman has when she pushes the baby out of her vagina. Those, my friend, are beibers feelings.

  • @BBQwatchman Your response reminds me of the old spice commercials. i lol'd.

  • @osborl12 that was my intention compelely :D

  • fabulous!!

  • I learned from the book "In a Silent Way: A Portrait of Josef Zawinul" that this was actually recorded in a studio, with an audience brought in to make noise--not in "The Club" as promised on the album cover!

  • @invisiblebridge -

    And - so?

  • weee oooo, goood god in the morning now this is what music's all about. and it's so easy to do, you pucker up your lips and blow into that little horn of yours and weeee ooooo it turns to magic and it's all called jazz. not pop, not country, not opera , jazz and you spell it J A Z Z, LORDIEEE BEEE!!!

  • Lol thats a famous part of the recording

  • makes me happy

  • This song moves my soul soooo deeply!!!! thanks Joe and "Cannonball" werever you are!

  • Excelente y fabuloso!!!!!!!!!

  • nice

  • De lo mejor!

  • Que buen tema!!!!!!!!!
