  • Did you guys replace the 2010 8rs?

  • @catanddeereD11T I am thinking replaced one and modified the other to go to 20 inch rows from 2009 to 2010.

  • Very cool operation! reminds me of seed corn somewhat. Do you happen to kno how many tons they are lifting with their carts? We run the same ones in seed corn and usually can only fit approx. 10 tons. Idk how much beets weigh, just wondering if they have ever had problems maxing out the lift capacity.

  • @tmx864 I am pretty sure they are 20 ton carts.

  • they also want to controll when beets are harvested right? mhhhh here in germany the pile is on the field and the transpotation coorperative say when they come to load and then you must have your beets out. in one year you are early like middle of oktober and one year you are late. the season ends in the first days of the near year, at a timer when snow is possible you must make a special plane on the pile

  • @Gesselnerbauer We will have snow here before too long. A few years back we had beets that rotted in Michigan Sugar's piles. As a result they are really fussy as to what condition the beets are being put into storage.

  • mhh the self proppeled can drive faster and on really wet conditions, and the other things i haven´t understand^^ can you say them?

    greets

  • @Gesselnerbauer Biggest problem is Michigan Sugar does not know if they want folks to switch to piling beets in the field. They want to control when the beets are harvested piled to maintain quality.

  • @Gesselnerbauer The selfpropelled are more ekspensive to buy, it takes only 9 rows and it stands still the rest of the year. These to machines are probably payed of long time ago, so to fix these to, which liftin 24 rows together, with autosteer on RTK, and are quite cheap, and the tractor is useable the rest of the year :)

  • Those are huge piles of beets. Does it stay cool enough so they don't heat or do they process as quick as they can?

     Great vid

  • @pridification Michigan Sugar watches the beet temps carefully and does not allow us to harvest when temps are too high for permanent piling. Michigan Sugar will process beets likely through February and possibly into early March.

  • Are the 8r tractors all new? last year were 8r with other lights. do they always swap the tracotrs every year? or are that not their own?

In germany you cant buy every year new cause they are too expensive for such jokes.

    and an really nice vid!

    greets

  • @Gesselnerbauer Yes the 8r tractors are new. They only "roll" tractors when it makes sense. Ag Economy has been pretty good. General economy is horrible and government has dangled some tax incentives for folks to reinvest in their own businesses.

  • very good video, those kind of harvesters you don't find here in my country.

shame about the wind in the microphone, had the same problem, I taped some cotton wool in front of the microphone.

    greatings from the netherlands.

  • @stro1962 Yeah it was a bummer on the wind noise. I left my "Dead Cat" at home. LOL It's been very windy here the last few days.
