@wicciw WTH You Only wish it was Fake 3 people died in this accident and their families are still mourning their losses structural fatigue caused the wings to fail so please do us all a favor and stop thinking everything looks fake ty
@pastorgeorgem haha jeez dude calm down, I didn't mean to offend. Yes i realize that people died and their families are still haunted by this. I realize it was structural fatigue, okay I'm not a complete idiot. And also for the record this is only thing i said looked fake, so how in the world can you make the assumption that I think everything looks fake?
@ilias2oo6 every video that I see that involves a plane crash there's always one (of your many) racist comments, if you don't like americans well deal with it and shut the fck up, fcking dmbshit. And no I'm not american (US).
@geertwildersful If the plane is Crap? then why is Boeing the leading aircraft manufacturer in the world...????an yes i know the c-130 is built by Lockheed...
@alexgets98 huh....no what......im done with the fucking racism in the fucking world..... if u wanna pick a fight...put your dumb ass on a plane and do it in person, not over the internet......
This is why I quit my route to become a professional pilot. No way I will subject myself to strapping into something with no escape anymore, after many hundreds of hours in the saddle. I fly Cirrus aircraft for fun outfitted with a ballistic parachute and I always wear a parachute onboard as well. I really enjoy flying now and if something goes wrong at least I have some chances to live to fly another day. I love to fly, but don't want to die doing it.
@TheTruthHurtsYup Com'on man, don't be a chicken... flying is the safest mode of transportation. You have like 1 chance in a million of having an accident. You don't even sound like a pilot, mate... =/
@MrAfstv1984 I love to fly, but don't want to die doing it as I love life too much. Its the safest mode of transportation? Ask the people who plummeted to their deaths in a aircraft with no escape if they think its the safest mode of transportation. I've had 2 incidents in the last 10 years both mechanical issues, one that affected controls and another that affected the engine. Both times I had no escape except to land and if the external factors were different the outcome might have been fatal.
@TheTruthHurtsYup God dammit it is statistically the safest mode of transportation, it's not that hard to understand. Nobody cares about you invalid confirmation bias when arguing proven statistical fact.
@MrAfstv1984 and I've known many high hour pilots over the years and they had known people who died flying the 'safest form of transportation' (a saying termed by the airlines to keep people flying BTW) and they themselves have had at least one emergency or more. I mean just think in this video where the wings failed, if there had been ejection seats these guys could possibly be home with their families today.
@MrAfstv1984 Don;t listen to him, he swims in an ocean of ignorance and confirmation bias. Probably likes tooting his own horn about being a pilot to strangers on the internet.
@00Dilinger hmm, tooting my own horn about being a pilot on a AIRPLANE vid and giving my experience as a pilot. Kinda seems relevant huh. and like I said, statistics to me mean NOTHING, they are history not the future. In my two incidences I was not thinking about statistics or being in the safest mode of transportation, I was thinking I want to get my two feet on the ground in one piece! I don't like people and the thought of dying with a bunch of you definitely makes me sick to my stomach.
@TheTruthHurtsYup Did you land the plane in an ocean of confirmation bias? Like I said most pilots know someone who has died or had incedents flying, doesn't change the fact it's still safer than any mode of transport. It's called CONFIRMATION BIAS look it up before you continue making yourself look like an ass. It is not the airline companies who have done the studies, it's basic math and has been done by countless Universities, Planes safer than cars FACT.
@00Dilinger Like I said, statistics do not mean a thing for me. I know the complexity of aircraft and the incredible balance of forces at work and I know that they are far more numerous than any other mode of transportation. Basic understandings. I fly RC planes and drive RC cars and I can tell you just on that scale the severity of the outcomes of failures versus the two. Funny how you call me as ass on my own personal preference. Calm down and don't burst a blood vessel mate.
Too many Gs, too much air speed. Really planes flying that close to the ground would be fitted with military spec ejector seats you'd have thought. Hardcore footage!!!
This C-130 was out of Minden NV, my good friend flew it. RIP. Wing were checked just week before the accident. C-130A models have had problems with wing spars, metal weakening over time. It was the case here too, too bad it didn't show on a check.
A show which was talking about the AC-130 Gunship spoke about how they needed to replace the wings because if overflown the wings would literally rip off. Well I guess they weren't kidding.
from what ive read on the crash report the wing roots failed due to curosion (no i cant spell it lol) caused by the fire retardent used to drop on fires over time it had leaked and eaten into the framework that and the constant weight change of dropping water weakend the spars
@TheChunksterboy The spar had had a repair accomplished in the past for a crack. The Broward fittings had never been replaced on the wing, which is one of the updates done to all military C-130's. The Broward fittings attach the wing to the fuselage at the spar, where you see the wings failing in the video. The repair to the spar had not been optimally accomplished (read line expedient) and corrosion under the spar doubler expedited the failure.
@skips1965 RSrsrssrsrsrsrsrsrsrsrsrs... crash in flight, tss, tss, tss... iJH... AUSHAUSHAUSHAUSHAUSH... then what happened? I mean, after the crash? The plain crashed in the air, right? Then, it came down or kept flying? AAAAUSHAUSHAUSHAUSHAUSHAUHSH... now, seriously, how could it be otherwise? The plane crashed while it was parked in the airport? AAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH this was really funny xD
@skips1965 What are you??? Smartass??? The sentence means it crashed during flight to imply it didn't crash during take - off or landing or during taxi... Don't try to look foolish if you are already...
@dexxa1290 You try it and let me know how it works. And considering the fact that your comment had zero to do with anything in the video, maybe you should try email.
@saswsz It was not a mistake by the crew. They flew the plane just like it was intended to fly. The plane suffered a wing box failure through no fault of the crew.
For the longest time I thought this was a cleverly put together hoax. It just seemed like such an unlikely thing to have happen. Until I was telling my hubby about "that silly video somebody made up where the wings fall off the plane," and he set me straight. :/
The word is that this plane was used by the CIA and there was a large chunk of time missing from it's logs. They had no idea how much time was on the frame. Very sad to watch.
@PinwheelPeter You must have grown up with the thought of no sympathy. This is sad that people died in this and your just sitting at your computer laughing at this. Grow up and learn that life is full of sadness, not humor you asshole.
@AINGELPROJECT667 I answer in my Language! Schieb dir deine Grammatik sonst wohin. Ihr dämlichen Amis habt es nicht drauf, vernünftige Flugzeuge zu bauen.
Even though "horstiwillrein" made mistakes, it seems like you understood every bit of his comments. That's what matters at the end of the day.
I have seen people coming up with the argument of erroneous English grammar/ language usage etc. only when they have nothing else to fight with ha ha ha ....
Challenger was caused by a misjudgement in the weather. The cold weather caused a rubber seal to freeze, which led to the fatal fuel leak. The Columbia was a dinosaur. By all respects, it shouldn't have been flying without a proper inspection, just like the plane in this video. You have to realize that most fire fighting planes are ancient, decomissoned, aircraft that have the best of their days behind them. I'm actually suprised that this didn't happen sooner.
Air tankers get fatique in the wing spar regularly. They are supposed to file a maintenece log. When the airframe numbers are up the plane is rebuilt or is grounded. That's why there is aircraft graveyards.
Nah mate...That looks like a piece of aluminum skin above the main wing spar leaving the aircraft.... The C-130 isn't equipt with ejection seats anyway.
@91Snyder you're not really in the US military, are you? If you were, you would know that the USAF has used HC-130P/N/PN for air-refuelling and SAR; while the USMC has used KC-130FJRT for air-refuelling and tactical airlift. Several other air forces have also used modified C-130's as air tankers. Furthermore, the USAF has used other aircraft for air-refuelling before the B707-based KC135. It also uses KDC-10 Extenders concurrently with the KC-135. The USN has its own S-3B buddy-buddy tankers
@ssmusic214 thats not an air refueling tanker. its a C-130 designed for heavy lifting. Plus fire bombers dont carry water they carry some fire retardent. which could still be heavy. But I don't think an overweight plane was the killer here. Probably some structural failure that was overlooked in a inspection.
Retired US military C-130 refueling tankers have been sold to forest service for firefighting. And in emergency situation they do use water a lot. There's never enough chemical fire retardants when fire is out of control.
there was never any model of a C-130 that was an air refueler I don't know what you are talking about....KC-135's have always been used for air refuelers in the US for as long as air refueling aircraft have been around I would know because I work on air refuelers for the air guard in SUX. And dont be so ignorant the plane in this video is clearly dropping chemical fire retardants, unless water is red nowdays
@ssmusic214 No it's not... LOL. This is wrong on so many levels. The C-130 is not an "air refueling tanker" it's a heavy lift cargo plane. Yes, the Marines have KC-130s converted for aerial refueling but that isn't the C-130s primary function. The C-130A has a payload of 42,000 lbs... and the 3,000 gallons of Phoschek (fire retardant, & no, there is no shortage of fire retardant during large fires) dropped by C-130s used by every contractor weighs 24,000 lbs. Its got plenty of payload to spare.
@FlakeDondi thats not a passenger plane, so dont worry, flying is so rediculousy safe, your safer flying then crossing a street or driving, your safer by a million
In the late 1980s, 22 retired USAF C-130As were removed from storage at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base and transferred to the U.S. Forest Service who then sold them to six private companies to be converted into airtankers for use in fighting wildfires (see U.S. Forest Service airtanker scandal). After one of these aircraft crashed due to wing separation in flight as a result of fatigue stress cracking, the entire fleet of C-130A airtankers was permanently grounded in 2004.
thats some real bullshit, the dam wings fell off, they didnt have a stress test b4 it took flight, i would be hella mad thats like runnin a race and ya feet fall off
dude th plane was made in vietnam and got the fuck flown outa it and the wings melted so yeah dumbass a 40 year old plane in 2000 degree heat...every plane does that

Even though "horstiwillrein" made mistakes, it seems like you understood every bit of his comments. That's what matters at the end of the day.
I have seen people coming up with the argument of erroneous English grammar/ language usage etc. only when they have nothing else to fight with ha ha ha ....

@AINGELPROJECT667 Und was ist mit euren Shuttles? Challenger, Columbia!
horstiwillrein 1 year ago
@horstiwillrein

That's why there is aircraft graveyards.

do i see at time :05 and :06 pilot ejecting out,
notice at this time something goes out of the top of the plane backwards just like pilots normally eject from fighter planes.
sheinshoaib 1 year ago
@sheinshoaib i don't think that these types of planes have ejection seats...
xXeFkaXx 1 year ago

Ivo27BG 2 years ago
It could have been overloaded. Air refueling tankers designed to carry jet fuel, not water. Water is much heavier than any kind of fuel.
ssmusic214 2 years ago
@ssmusic214 thats not an air refueling tanker. its a C-130 designed for heavy lifting. Plus fire bombers dont carry water they carry some fire retardent. which could still be heavy. But I don't think an overweight plane was the killer here. Probably some structural failure that was overlooked in a inspection.
91Snyder 2 years ago
Retired US military C-130 refueling tankers have been sold to forest service for firefighting. And in emergency situation they do use water a lot. There's never enough chemical fire retardants when fire is out of control.
ssmusic214 2 years ago
there was never any model of a C-130 that was an air refueler I don't know what you are talking about....KC-135's have always been used for air refuelers in the US for as long as air refueling aircraft have been around I would know because I work on air refuelers for the air guard in SUX. And dont be so ignorant the plane in this video is clearly dropping chemical fire retardants, unless water is red nowdays

ssmusic214 2 years ago
of course there are kc 130's!!
the marines use them, along with many other countries
jetaddicted 2 years ago
@ssmusic214 No it's not... LOL. This is wrong on so many levels. The C-130 is not an "air refueling tanker" it's a heavy lift cargo plane. Yes, the Marines have KC-130s converted for aerial refueling but that isn't the C-130s primary function. The C-130A has a payload of 42,000 lbs... and the 3,000 gallons of Phoschek (fire retardant, & no, there is no shortage of fire retardant during large fires) dropped by C-130s used by every contractor weighs 24,000 lbs. Its got plenty of payload to spare.

After one of these aircraft crashed due to wing separation in flight as a result of fatigue stress cracking, the entire fleet of C-130A airtankers was permanently grounded in 2004.

thats some real bullshit, the dam wings fell off, they didnt have a stress test b4 it took flight, i would be hella mad thats like runnin a race and ya feet fall off

dude th plane was made in vietnam and got the fuck flown outa it and the wings melted so yeah dumbass a 40 year old plane in 2000 degree heat...every plane does that
KartKing4ever 2 years ago
@23580578H
The C-130 was not made in Vietnam. The wings did not melt. It's called structural fatigue, the spar inside the wing box failed.
