I don't really think you understood the point of the book/movie. Dr. Manhattan didn't wear the loin cloth anymore because he had lost touch with human nature. And the comedian was suppose to be a total douche. That's part of the whole "who watches the watchmen?" theme.
I didn't care for it. I had no Idea what it was trying to cover. IT was really easy to tell who killed comedian since it kinda showed his face in the beginning
