It was actually South Vietnamese pilots who conducted this raid on Kim Phuc's village. They were using U.S.-supplied napalm and flying U.S.-supplied planes. I was questioning the morality of waging war as a preventative measure as we did 30 years later in Iraq. Vietnam DID eventually fall to the communists as we had feared but never really posed any threat to the U.S. as a communist state. So what was the point of all that slaughter? The North Vietnamese air force didn't bomb South Vietnam because of America's overwhelming air superiority in the south. Their sole mission was to defend the north.
