@geesmith Desperate for the attention they were so terribly deprived from in real life, the lonely lifeless raging homosexuals flee to the internet in hopes of proving themselves to themselves by mindlessly smashing their keyboards in a nerdgasm rage. This pitiful attempt to implement their 'superior' status in the world is only, of course, met with complete and total obliteration as they never had any idea what they were up against. R.I.D. geesmith, mental scars from massive ownage will heal.
MARK FREEMAN playing Drums, Now with The Rollin' Stoned, STEVE BOLTON Guitar - went on to play with Paul Young and ALAN OFFER on Bass from the Tuttin Fruities and Diz and The Doormen and MR OTWAY still at it!! - Guest appearance from ACE 'roadie' Kevin too! The Band had just returned from a tour of America - I believe it was 1980 not 1979 but who cares!!
No matter how many times I see Mr Ottway plus sidekicks (Wild Willy, Robin and a million others) he is allways f**king brilliant. I remeber seeing him on TOTP in 1978 and DLT saying he was ahead of his time!! I bought the album the next day...£3.79 at Startime records Harlow.
Song is an old folk-rock track from 1966 written and sung by Bob Lind. Yeah, that guy who had a hit with "Elusive Butterfly." "Cheryl" was the b-side of that 45. Otway does have taste I'll admit. I prefer Lind's version because Lind's had these nice drum roll accents throughout. But Otway in his strange way has done a good job. He arranged it more aggressively, the words are harsh in this setting and it still works.
