@Conan568 Really cool beautiful knife Conan. How does this knife feel in the hand, is it balanced?, do you like your handles with a certain amount of weight? Absolutely gorgeous!
This is a beautiful piece. I'm wondering, does it's strength and cutting power come from it's pattern welded construction or from how you tempered it? I mean, could you forge a knife with the same cutting power and strength but from non-pattern welded steel? i.e. taking a single bar of steel of any desired carbon content and forging it into a blade?
@Conan568 It's a fairly easy design, it will be like making a big knife. It's not like normal swords. Which is why I want a knife smith to take a try at the design.

Any knife can be bent into a complete circle if it's heat treated right.
Conan568 2 months ago
@Conan568 Bulat who did in Damascus, called Damascus steel. In the video, US bulat.
if you make a metal with low carbon content, but then he would not be a knife.
32167BD 2 months ago

That's why this steel is made with low carbon and high carbon steels layered together.
Hard and tough at the same time.

I helped skin 2 buffalo and my hunter still shaved hair no problem.
