@JMZMusic Where did you put the sitar bridge? I have a Danelectro Dc1959 Reissue, can i put that sitar bridge (i don't know if it calls bridge, but i know it looks like and it's black) on my DC 59? Thanks!
no need to reply back i see your not using a sitar swami pedal but u use the gotoh sitar bridge cool stuff .i'll have to got one and sell the crappy dano sitar swami pedal its amazing what just that gotoh bridge can do turns the guitar into a real sitar.
HELP!!!hi i bought one of these last week but sounds crap nothing like a sitar more like a fuzzy flanger , but yours soundS great how come mine is'nt the same in sound?would appreciate some feedback .theres a guy with glasses called bozsomo allso on here has a dano sitar swami and his is the same as mine sound grap infact his is worse than mine take a listen thanks ed
Well in all honesty, you could have taken a second to show us it, thanks though, there was a pawn shop down the street selling a dano 59 for $140!! so I traded some crap strat I had laying around for it.
my god that sounds fucking amazing dude. would you recommend purchasing the bridge itself and modifying an existing guitar over buying one? i found a company called jerry jones that makes one that has sympathetic strings for $1000, and there are also other cheaper models out there... just trying to get opinions since no play around me has these guitars that i can try.
They're easy to installon a Dano, but they need to be tweaked alot in order to buzz correctly and (sorta) intonate at the same time. It's always a give and take in that regard. This one sounds great as far as the buzzing, and sounds pretty intonated as well. Lucky bastard. LOL. The 'sympathectic' strings don't really work like a real sitar's. I've added a long buzzing bridge under all of mine, which sounds cooler, but that don't respond to plucked notes sympathetically like real sitars do.
Love your guitar playing. I have a rogue danelectro with a U2 neck and it sounds pretty nice, but you showed me how you can play the gotho bridge. I also got the DC59 and just love it to death, and you play like the angels. Thank you.
The ALLPARTS website offers a replacement guitar bridge for Danelectro guitars that is especially designed to make a buzzing sound similar to a sitar. You may be able to find it on ebay, as well.

This is achieved with a simple bridge change?

That's funny, that buzzing sound that is construction fault from luthier's point of view gives the most meditave and unearthly sound in the world.

Wonderful man! Do you use "Sitar Swami" Danelectro effect? or what kind of modification you do it on guitar?
icarokar 2 years ago
It's the actual guitar that sounds like that... not a pedal..
Danelctro made bridges that buzz similar to a sitar.. I think this guy basically put one on his Dano 59. pretty simple mod actually

Sitar swami pedal sucks...it doesn't sound like a sitar at all:(

I'm also interested in what modifications you did. Great sound and playing. Is your Danelectro an original 59 or the reissue?
