  • don't compare musicians. just don't do it.

  • Luther, in my opinion has the best voice ever. He was so unique

  • Sang this way better than Lionel did

  • i actually disagree. Lionel's version is better. But this version has its own uniqueness

  • I know he died in 2.005 but, when was this performance? can anybody answer? Thanks!

  • this remake of lionel richies 'hello" IS FANTASTIC!! luther could have sung the phone book and made it sound good.....we miss you....RIP

  • THE BEST !!!!!!

  • We MISS you Luther!!!!

  • This voice can never be duplicated. He was a true master.

  • simply amazing and heart touching. The voice from that man comes from heavens and from his deepest heart. Can somebody tell me please if there exsists an live album of this concert or at least when and where this concert has taken place?

  • when this performance happened?

  • All of them just went to early, as love is still needed in this so cruel world, for sure

  • MAESTRO !

  • Beautiful cover of Hello. I actually liked Lionel's version, but this is heavenly. We miss you, Luther!!

  • the pathos Luther put into each song turned it into art! wonderful version!

  • the pathos Luther put into each song turned it into art!

  • I never knew till now that Luther sampled 'hello' wow, what a talent we lost but it makes me happy that his music, together with other legends that are no longer with us, lives through us and that it is our duty as real music lovers to pass on the music that will surely live on beyond our life time. There will NEVER be another Luther, the same goes for Michael Jackson, but I'm convinced when we all play their songs we honour them and appreciate the gift they left us. I salute all those legends.

  • Saw him live in London. Truly amazing voice.Lionel must have been very proud.

  • I think it was Charlie Manson that pushed the dislike button!!

  • can i kick the bitch of that single person who disliked this video?

  • who pressed a dislike button?Lionel Richie?

  • @Natadancemagic haha love that one, good one on the Lionel :)

  • A true artist in his own right...This man's voice will never be duplicated in our time.

God rest his soul. Mr Vandross, we thank you for your true gift to mankind.

  • this just beautiful, the voice, the concert, wonderful

ppl ask who sang better. to me they both did

lionel and luther are amazing. but mr. vandross sing it

with loved, and feeling love. mr. richie sang it being in

loved, and feel he was falling in love. but still amazing.

  • Who originally has this song? Is it Lionel Richie or Vandross?

  • @dollarmann21 .... Richie originally sang it on his "Can't Slow Me Down album"(1984). Luther covered it on his all cover songs album "Songs" 1994. Get Songs its the best cover album out there to me its Luther at his intimate best. The concert DVD is even better.

  • Simply The Best

  • Luther, you say Hello and you touch my heart in a way that is beyond words and even beyound understanding. Unbelievable.

  • best vocalist of all time - FACT

  • @berniemutzie

    Amen!!! Truth right there!!

  • @berniemutzie I must agree with you his music is untouchable in my opinion

  • What a voice, amazing singer

  • No doubt and we can take a vote....but simply granted by God himself...... Ms. WHITNEY HOUSTON and Mr. LUTHER VANDROSS are the greatest female and male vocalists that had ever song. I just wished that they had recorded together. It would have been the 8th wonder of the world....because WHITNEY HOUSTON is already the 7th wonder of the world.

  • 1 person is scared to say "Hello"

    Vintage Luther, awesome!

  • 1 person is scared to say "Hello"

  • Luther Vandross your voice, feels very peaceful when heard his incredible voice ..

  • Luther just does it better. He was the best bar none !!!!! He put his heart and soul in every song and every note that he sang. The world is a much dimmer place with the loss of him. You are very missed Luther.

  • a soulful rendition of the song...LOVE IT...THE BEST EVER...THE GREATEST VOICE EVER RECORDED....

  • Michael Jackson, James Brown and Luther Vandross...I love them with a passion. We lost more than music when they died..so much more. I hate to say it but who will remember the current artists in 10, 20 years from now?

I hope they are having a blast in heaven...I can't wait to see them again.

    It's all for LOVE XOXO

  • @MJRedSilk great taste mate ;)

  • fantastic version , what an amazing voice , loving it ......

  • no one like him

  • HE MADE ME SCREAM I WANT MY HUBBY

  • f********* the one who dont like it

  • what happenedto all the great singers & the great music.............today they manufacture stars & feed that garbage to the masses.............Trey Songz,Bieber fever...........someone stop this maddness, please

  • @HugsKisses. LOL!! thanks for making my night.

  • Stop comparing Lionel with Luther Vandross! BOTH are talented and both have done this song extremely well. Luther did one great thing, he slowed the pace, added those orchestral instruments and took it a note higher in the end, which makes it pure magic. I love Lionel for writing this song! It's one of the best love songs on the planet!

  • thats pure raw talent, more like a blessing one that he had that voice and two that he could share it with us,

  • lionel aint got shit on luther

  • the best,the best,the best.....

  • This might be the only time the orginal artist got outsang on their own song. This song was great before but Luther he just made it awesome.

  • Luther, Luther-you can sing this song great!

  • r.i.p Luther, your songs will linger forever...

  • Luther would sing a classic and it would be better than the original........Legendary!!!!

  • What a nice voice..

  • one has to be really blessed to open their mouth and have that coming out! and the ones that appreciate it, of course

  • To get this mp3 go to easymp3grab doht cohm.

  • Mr Luther Vandrosss, one of the greatest if not the greatest male singer of all times. The way he takes a song and makes it totally his. Like the taste of grandmas peach cobler, this man was so so good. I miss you Luther, upo will always be my hero. Thank you so much for sharing your gift. DD

  • ok this ones the shit....luther healthy and at his best...r.i.p Luther you were the true "Natural"

  • der beste sänger

  • gyönyörűen énekel

  • im getting afraid for the future of music we are losing soo many grwat soulful singers by death and by drugs. age, etc. dont know whre music will end up in 10 years but its not going to be good as it was from 60's to 2000

  • makes lionel look like a karaoke star!! legends live on

  • The Voice ! RIP Luther

  • Nice,nice,nice.. Very,very nice

  • Luther is pure greatness....

  • Took me forever to find this album....his version is pure greatness!

  • super cool guy

  • watched glee and search this video.

  • does anyone know what note hes hitting at 3:15 to 3:19 ??

  • Damn !, You're right ! After listening to Luther, I completely forgot that Lionel Richie originally wrote this song. Way to take a song and make it your own Luther!!! You are truly forever missed & forever deeply loved. (THE VOICE) RIP.

  • Yes is a Angel his voice rip

  • brilliant, i am completely touched,

so glad i can find sonething such profound, deep and amazing!!

  • easily the best male vocal in the last 30 years, he nailed this song.I bet linoel richie regretted lending him the rights!

  • @jamesjonesrocket well said, dione warwick said luthers version of a house is not a home is the definitive one, and that was her song!

he had a way of making a song his though, in his own special style, i think the artists he covered are very happy with what Luther did with their songs :))

  • @jamesjonesrocket lionel richie is problly honored to lend the right to the best male vocalist EVER.

  • @jamesjonesrocket EASILY!

  • @jamesjonesrocket Once Luther "sang" a song it was his!

  • @jamesjonesrocket lionel in a new york news after luther sang this. this is true. " when i wrote this song, and sang it i knew it wasnt a hit. but i did it anyways. and god i was wrong. but to flash to luther, he ask me if he can sing any of my classic songs. i told him, which one, he just said you be amazed. and to be honest i was amazed, not by the song he picked, but god he sang this with something i never had, that was call pure soul."

  • MASTERFUL! I can't believe this guys voice. It's perfect singing with this thunderous soul that just pours out of him.

  • This song makes me sad. It makes me think about all the people who let their fears and insecurities stand in the way of finding love. We all do it... even me.

  • omg very perceptive interpretation! :P

  • @ashleypina1

Even Luther himself............. so sad that he couldn't or wouldn't find the love he deserved.

  • @ashleypina1 Wise words , thanks for posting this to the world

    F

  • effortless brilliance everytime. damn i miss him

  • no man that ever lived can top his voice

  • He was a truly classic vocalist...

  • Angel voice....

  • He can sing anybodys song and make it like his own. Love his voice
