Actually, the footage of Whitney at :35 was was not of her being "back;" in fact, I watched that performance, that song and the next, and at that point, you could already hear the damage to her voice. She actually had to transpose the song down instead of up. It was inspiring to hear her again but also heart-breaking. There's a video of Celine Dion stopping her media interview backstage to watch this performance, and having to wipe tears from her eyes. I think we'll always love Whitney Houston..

I kinda agree. Celine's voice has deteriorated but not as much as mariah's and whitney's have. She can still sing quite well live. I love Mariah and whitney more though.

Celine's voice hasn't deteriorated..it's aged!!! Mariah's has deteriorated after her breakdown and stuff and Whitney's is wrecked due to drugs.I know these 3 are rivals and when all in thier peak there wasnt much between them but now Celine was only one left standing really..

I don't understand why people can't appreciate one singer without having to compare them with another.The only rivalry between these ladies only existed in the minds of their fans.Celine's voice has withstood the test of time & Whitney has done some damage to hers but in the case of Mariah,she has alway's been an inconsistant live singer. YouTube is full of very good & very bad Mariah performances.

IF YOU WANT TO TALK THAT WAY, Whitney never went away either. She released an album in 2003 and has been performing regularly since. She has made at least 3 high profile performances each year as well as 2 international tours. Whitney never left either.

I think she still sounds really good! ofcourse she's not going to sound like she did a decade ago, and that's expected. What singer you know, still sounds as good as they did, back in their prime? Exactly. Mariah Carey is going through the same thing, as is Celine Dion, Mary J. Blige, and others.
More importantly, Whitney STILL has an amazing voice, and I wish her all the success she deserves when her new album hits the shelves sometime this year.

Am I the only one that thinks criticism of her is just too much to take? She is simply wonderful and if anyone can find a better singer, good luck. I'm thankful her work is posted here, but the caption that floated across "a slight voice change won't matter, we still love you" is patronizing. Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand, Frank Sinatra and all the others had vocal changes throughout their long careers. Voices deepen with age.

I have to admit ive always preferred Mariah, but hello whitney set the standard!! She deserves a big comeback im rooting for her, a talent like hers is so rare and the world was better for it with her voice lending inspiration to not just artists but ordinary people alike!! I have MAD respect for this woman and i dont care who you think is better she deserves RESPECT musically and our support in her efforts to re-enter the music scene, A true vocal legend!

When she was young she has that high pitch and voice and being that im only 17 years old I really never heard all of her songs and when i listen to the old songs on the radio it have me guessing if it her. i like how she sings with soul and power at the same time. and older her voice will change.
