Sorry to disapoint all those who think this behaviour was intentional,the continuous pecking indicates the bird is trying to get food from the lid, it needs a solid flat base to do this. The combination of snow and pitch of the roof created the slippery surface making it slide. Perhaps this crow is not as clever and intellegent as they are made out to be.
