i got as i lay dying tattooed on my arm...so i guess i'm a fan. But even i think that they aren't one of the best bands on earth. You could take the drums and the guitar...record 10 secs and repeat is through out the songs....same notes all the time...and thats quite boring. But hey....they do their style and i like it...but not to often a day^^

As I Lay Dying is decent, but not amazing. They are pretty repetitive, the same chugs all the time. Outside of a few songs, they are the type of band that gives metal a bad name by making people think it all sounds the same.

Secondly, there are plenty of bands that have this much melody, 'groove', and emotion. Those other bands are also significantly more talented, and their music is far more technical.
