if not the best song of 1991 one of the best. i wish this band would have made an album full of 70s remakes as i did not care for the dance songs on their 1988 and 1991 releases. this version sounds like some of the sounds are diminished and other instruments/sounds are made more prominent.

Thanks you, very much appreciated. On all of my songs we stacked a few synths together for a bass sound that can't just be pulled up on a synth or software.  The main sound for this bass line was the Juno 106. Elin, the vocalist pulled of that performance with 1 take. No comps, punch ins, or auto tune.

Michael Caplan sitting in the studio. We were going to do a few takes and comp them but he said, "it's perfect". Contrast this to my first singer, I spent a week getting her to do the vocals the way I wanted rather than a lounge singer trying to imitate Anita Baker.
