@mushrume's..I agree with everything you say. Regarding your last comment, it would be great to have more riders on the grid, but we need bikes for them to ride, if im not mistaken weve lost Kawasaki amongst others because of the costs involved....Any electronics that help protect the rider im all for but somewhere we can cut costs so that new teams can evolve. Wouldnt it be great if Norton,Triumph etc entered MotoGp? would you rather save 3 seconds round silverstone or new teams on the grid?
I know i like my 1000cc bikes over any smaller motors, you just cant float the wheel out of turns like the big motor bikes. Ya theres an art to being smooth on under powered bikes like 600s and such but why race with less power.....Im an American.
Oh wow, it just ocurred to me! Listen to that bike riding out of the pits, sounds like a Subaru engine, hahaaa. But then at race speed it sounds like anything else.
In that era, almost every race could be won by at least five drivers. Today's races are much less exciting. Concerning all the electronics: I totally agree with you!!! The systems reduce the weight of driving skills to the bike. That leads to boring races like we see in F1.
MotoGp is way too expensive, it will die if they do not reduce the costs. Without checking I think Ben's pole at assen in 2009 on super bike tryes, would have placed him 4th on the MotoGp grid...As a specator im not sure I can see the extra £500.000 performance gain of a MotoGP bike...Bring back the Privateers is the phrase im looking for...Maybe im talking crap but we all want close racing.....
@markf2d i think the thing is , people want to see the bikes go as fast as possible. and the riders want to ride as far as possible . so its only natural that with the last 15 years computer technology coming so far its super reliable and can do more than ever its going to be used . and in some places liek silverstone ,the gp lap is 3 seconds faster than the superbike . a big margin in racing terms .... i think we just need more talented people getting into the field.
I have a memory like a sieve.. but back in the 80's I remember going to Brands Hatch for MotoGp or superbike & the locals were allowed to compete often giving the big boys a good run for their money if not winning sometimes.Because they knew the track etc...MotoGp needs more bikes on the grid for sure, If every countries local hero can get a tuned superbike engine in a fancy frame to lap within say 107% of pole they should be on the grid,,
Well Honda clearly had the better bike in 2012. All you've gotta do is look at the last lap of the last race in Valencia. It wasn't rider error by Ben Spies. It was the brute power of the Honda that propelled Stoner from 2-3 bike-lengths behind Spies to take the win.
@reverb478 Watch the video again man. Spies hits the paint on the exit of the corner and spins the rear up, loses traction. That's how Stoner got by. The Honda was definitely faster in 2011 but Spies lost his second win just by putting the rear tire over slippery paint instead of black-top.
Any1 wonders why Rossi Ducati sucked vs Stoners ducati? Stoner ran the SCREAMER 800cc on ALUMINUM FRAME (800cc only screamer would make an good engine) if honda goes with it it means business. Rossi ran the BIG BANG that at 800cc sucked assss! on Crbon frame which completed the shit cocktail Rossi had hope its better this year!!! well MUST BE! i bet on the same exact bike Stoner would do any better than Rossi, Gp is such a vicious sport. Rossi has hes name digged all over mile stone in gp.
@tribalpnoy this video is from last year when they tested during the season, of course he would have #1 on the bike cuz he was running his number. Look at the Sepang test gallery.
sounds sooooo good , stoner, lorenzo, spies, even rossi still , all awesome riders guys just depends who syncs with their bike and team best and gets their mojo on ! now stoner on a yammy , i'd like to see that ! fav rider and fav bike !
stoner isn't soo good i think, the Honda was just better than the Yamaha. Look Valencia 2011. It looks like rain, and stoner driva like a pussy, thats not championlike :D
@Econemii Really? Look at SIlverstone 2011 where he beat everyone by a mile in the rain. He could ride rings around you mate. You don't win two world championships by being slow.
@Econemii He's a brilliant rider so is Valentino. Rossi admires Stoner's talent very much. When he first rode the 2010 Ducati he realised how good Stoner is. Rossi is a great champion, but he didn't want to push the Ducati enough to win. That's why Stoner used to crash so much, the bike was shit and he had to really push the front of the bike to try to go fast around the corners. I love Rossi and Stoner too. Ciao!
@CBR11X I hope you KNOW the differences between the TWO PROJECTTT BIKES aluminum with screamer vs big bang on carbon should say everything, Rossi is FAR better that stoner and COOLER over all, Rossi was the goal for stoner and lorenzo to get up in the morning try to beat Valentino, Rossi was and IS inspiration n motive for both of these without him they wouldnt fly this high well stoner has 5 GP championships to get, with the deadly rivals soon enough some one will get him by the neck, watch.
@HRG86 Why are you telling me this?I never asked you anything and your comment is irrelevant to what I have written here.I know Rossi is a great rider, been watching him race for 15 years.I'm 40 y.o.old and have been riding bikes for about 30 years;have watched bike racing from the Gardner vs Spencer vs Lawson days.BTW Stoner ran a carbon sub-frame whilst at Ducati;the engine as a stressed member makes the bike overuse the suspension and the bike hard to ride.Rossi knew this from his Duc 1st ride
@CBR11X No questions, STONER NEW DIMENSION? all good riders are their own thing not to forget that top speed alone stoners GP10 9 8 or what ever it was, it was 28kmh faster on the straights, so add that to you data base Mr. Dr. motorcycleta
@HRG86 Take care brother. I think you read into things too much. I like all the MotoGP riders, they are real talents and not arm chair experts like the rest of us. I like Rossi very much but I think his fans can be real dickheads at times and are disrespectful of all the other riders.
@Econemii that's why Rossi is 9 times the world's best moto GP rider!!! it doesn't matter weather it's a rain race,or a dry one!!! 110 gp wins and 300 podiums... that's a champion!!!
In 2012 .. a lot of new exciting motorcycle race Pabrikkan .. do not be afraid to join a new motorcycle involved ama Honda. Resistance Yamaha.Ducati love .. Come ..
I love how people bash Yamaha on here and Honda only won one championship in the 800cc era. Maybe Honda should make piano's in the off-season. Might help them build a better bike.
@DJaysParadise Definitely. I would never argue that Honda had the best bike last year. The seamless shifter clearly gave them an advantage. But Yamaha and Ducati both have the same technology on their bikes this year. So it's going to be an interesting season.
@r6erik I think it has something to do with how easy Stoner made it look, and how all Honda factory riders typically finished in the top 5 every race (when they finished anyway). Looking forward to a clean slate 2012!
@r6erik both make a great bike, its just the power honda got out of the 800 was noticeably more. the yamaha handled better though i believe on the high speed circuits..... if honda makes it like they did last years version it will be strong again ......
Considering Yamaha is a musical Instrument manufacturer more so than anything, and originally Yamaha only tuned pianos... they make one hell of a bike.
It's about what the stopwatch says. This looks to be the test that Yamaha had with their 1000cc bikes at Misano after the Grand Prix. There were no times sadly.
Spies has always had a distinct style in his riding, but for a Grand Prix bike against the very best in the world, it's more of a hindrance. Lorenzo is much cleaner, and this is why he's been alot faster than Spies. Was quite dissapointed with Spies this year, other than Assen, he hasn't adapted as well as expected
im just thinking this is going to make the PS3 motoGP '12 game THAT much more difficult to control, god damn it. oh, and, Spies will be the '12 champ. proven scientific fact that Americans have larger testicles than their competitors which suit the larger displacement engines.
@mark675 If you could fuck Spies, you wouldn't say that.... Sounds like YOU are the miserable fuck... loser. Keep on spraying shoes at the bowling alley....
@windi1982 You know what could be the surprise? 1000cc cross plane crank shaft with the yamaha.thats a big bang motor 800cc vs honda screamer 800cc.in reality less cc more rpm to drive the bike and with 1000 less rpm more low end control which makes the bike easier to handle high speeds so I THINK MY OPINION is that the M1 could make a better use of the 1000 if honda gets the 1000 working like the 800 thyll rape everyone and ducati shouldnt have gone with CF frame and BIG BANG 800cc that sux

@DrewChasedc he is really fast no matter what hes on...i hope he can show out for the usa in the world champ class. be nice to have another title for us
@DrewChasedc doubt it . without super sic it will be easier but i still think he is a couple notches down on the talent totem pole . pedrosa, stoner, lorenzo and rossi if ducati gets in shape are all better contenders . hayden too if he does like 06
I'm not so happy with an inline engine still in use. It has lots of advantages regarding the possibilities on chassis' design and sure none would take more performance out of a inline than Yamaha can do but there're just too many pluses on a V-engine that I'm afraid that Yamaha will just win with the far best chassis. There's a much smaller crankshaft in V-engines which on its own reduces the rotating masses A LOT.
@StefanR0 Further a V-engine constructed at a certain angle has all the benefit of the crossplane crankshaft paired with a smooth firing order that itself alone provides more power and torque. I think if Yamaha would like to be THE manufacturer again, they need to go V or they need to build one insane chassis from outer space ... as they did in the past. :-)
@dbracing15 I think that sound is just the crossplane crank noise, I agree it does sound like tc working overtime at times, but it's the M1 engine noise at low revs too
TWO STROKE SOUND ! CROSSPLANE FOR EVER !

Really unlucky he didn't win in Valencia.... But he will win more races for sure and be champ.
Just a matter of time

@DrewChasedc not quite, still too far from 'First group' containing 'Sto, Lor and Ped'
he typically in 'second group' containing Dov and Sic
He may win 1 or 2 races, but GP champion??...dont think so

@DrewChasedc mark my words when i say this, no one will beat stoner until he retires

All I hear is Traction Control. Moving to 1000cc aint going to make a blind bit of difference to the bore fest this season has provided.

@dbracing15 I think that sound is just the crossplane crank noise, I agree it does sound like tc working overtime at times, but it's the M1 engine noise at low revs too
