Everyone got extremely lucky. The police were extremely careless, especially at the dunkin donut shop. The police could have caused the death of the hostages several times if the hostage taker had true hostile intent. The chances of this situation happening and negotiation working is VERY rare. When the cop pulled the last hostage out, he should have immediately swept in with his weapon and took the hostage taker out.

I don't think the officer had military training.

My brother, who's at Ft. Hood, thought he should go downstairs and confront these two people who were arguing in my parking lot.

When I told him he's not armed, and they might be, he told me a good soldier isn't supposed to care about that.

I thought he was crazy, but I'm not in the military-and after hearing that, never want to be.

At the beginning, one of the cops: either Bill Manuel, or Mansue says Lenz was under arrest for posession for cocaine and a suringe.

But when they finaly get that nutball out of the ambulance- they don't cuff him?

If he was going to be arrested- they should have cuffed him after they got him out of the ambulance safely.

Cops dont shoot to kill. Also they would have been charged with excessive use of force. If i had to guess he started using drugs because his wife left him. I am not justifying his actions or use of drugs and endagering the lives of the police and medics but i think he should of been confined to a mental institution and a drug rehab in addition to his jail sentance

I live in West Windsor and I volunteer for the squad. This is fuckin weird. 130, the highway that the high speed chase took place on is no longer a 2 lane high way. Mansue is the Lt of the police force, Edwards is chubbier and a detective, and all of the EMT's are no longer with the squad. The paramedic, as far as I have heard, is still deeply distraught about this. I heard he works for rwj as a medic.
