  • The original jingle was composed, produced and sung by David Lucas in New York.

The last one had a new verse co-written by David Lucas, Bobby Alessi and Dave Immer for Lucas/McFaul Productions, produced by Lucas.

  • Anyone have the mount airy lodge commercial where they show the champagne glass bubble bath?

  • buffalino

  • Get car jacked on your way back from the Poconos

  • My family and our friends used to go their President Day Weekend every year from like 76-80. That was my childhood. Miss that place!

  • I had my Prom at this Place!! in 96!

  • my ex went there with me and banged the table in the resturaunt wheres my meal

  • When we were little, my cousin and I decided that we were going to have a double wedding and both go on our honeymoon here......I feel so old now! LOL

  • One summer, my folks took the family on a week's vaca over there, and there were these two sisters there. I pursued one, struck out, and got the other one. Good times....over 30 years ago.

  • Now's the perfect time, to come to Mount Airy Lodge, were you can play all day and dance into the night. At beautiful Mount Airy Lodge, all you have to bring, is your love of everything. All you have to bring is your love of everything thing. Beautiful Mount Airy Lodge!

  • I remember seeing that on tv when I was a kid.

  • Is it still mount airey lodge. I heard it was converted into a homeless shelter or public housing for the indijent?

  • @PAM2167 it was torn down, but a new casino/resort has been built. The new commercial for it isnt as exciting as the old ones were.

  • @aldoreshgaramok Doesn't surprise me a bit that the "boys" were there. Anytime there is gambling around the "gang" is sure to want in on it. I've been living in Vegas for the past 5 years and everyone says it was better (winning wise) when the "boys" owned the casinos! Can't wait to get back home and see the new place.

  • is that rodney dangerfield at 0:19 ??

  • yes it is

  • @thebigskynow Sure is Dangerfield, and Tony Bennett. These resorts were the high life before the 1970s rolled around. Search for Borscht Belt Comedians. All the famous comics were in the Catskills and Poconos all the time. That time is long, long gone. I'm still shocked the badly run-down Nevele was open until 2009, and people were actually living in the collapsing Homowack before the State forced them to leave for their own safety. Interesting area.

  • my dad said he saw some ghost here on his honeymoon in 1970.

  • yeah i was there for my moms and dads wedding in 2001 and in the elevator we found our room number carved in the wall

  • seriously?

  • I haven't heard this song since I was 11. Thank you for posting!

  • This brings back too many memories....I worked there in the 90's. Great people. It's a shame, they tore it down and now it's a casino. Pity.

  • @suz208

A corrupt casino at that. There's been a trial and everything. The place was packed to the hilt with mob gangsters.

I just read today on the RSS feed that the owner rolled on his buddies to get a lighter sentence.

  • omg.. this IS my youth, growing up on NYC television..

  • same here

  • @Shoesnotbombs ME TOO :) even though I was 19 in 1982, LOL!

  • WORSE...

  • I like the gal in the tubby!! Was this place like the Commack Motor Inn?

  • "BEAUTIFUL MOUNT AIRY...Casino & Resort..." :) :) :) Yeah, that's the ad I saw while I was down in Trenton last week (on the Philly networks--WPVI-6 ABC, actually). It was kinda funny hearing them say "Casino & Resort" at the end of it. Considering I grew up in BK listening to "BEAUTIFUL MOUNT AIRY LODGE!" I remember seeing the old ad on our B&W set some 20+ years ago...hell, I can still see it! Just like yesterday... BTW, I still think that figure skater @ 0:13 looks yummy! ;) Anybody know her?

  • All the furniture and carpeting in this commercial was probably in it when they tore it down.

    Shithole.

  • I remember this commercial!

  • Thanks for posting this TV ad. This ad ran in the Pittsburgh market at that time. I remember not being able to get that Mt. Airy song out of my head. It played over and over in my head. It looked great on TV, but then I know how TV can be. Wow, not being able to get that tune out of my head may explain why I'm brain-dead now. Beautiful Mt. Airy Lodge. Now that song is in there again. There go more brain cells.

  • All you nimrods are talking out your a-hole. I worked there in the 80's when it was a big honking hulk of a depressing dive. It was a mess. It was sold, razed and built back up into a very shnazzy casino/hotel/spa by (no- not a felon) a generous, classy, family to whom the area owes a debt of gratitude for for keeping the Poconos a destination for the area.

  • Good food, cool spa, but I wish the casino had table games!

And they should still air that commercial, lol.

  • They do, in a sense...I believe a portion of this jingle is used in current ads for the new Mt Airy.

  • Yes they do use part of the melody for the current spots. It's the "beautiful Mount Airy...Casino Resort" part that sounds like the old jingle. The rest of the spots are all different. Thank God.

  • @sundaybest27 If you don't know table games are in as of July

  • That figure skater @ 0:13 looks (or looked) yummy! Mmm-mmm-mmm! ;)

  • i wanna go see it lol

  • Yeah, my jaw almost dropped when I recently heard "casino resort."

  • Mount Airy Lodge....I went there once or twice in the early '80s. It was a really nice place, back when the Poconos was a whole 'nother world for this city slicker (grew up in Queens, NY). Unfortunately the Poconos has turned into a dive and I'm sorry to hear about what happened to MAL. Does anyone remember Schmitt's Mountain Resort in Marshalls Creek? I went there every summer from 1980-85.

  • thge good ole days before that FELON turned it into a slots parlor !!!

  • lol...another classic!!!!!

  • I went there in 1990 with my family for winter break in February when I was 6. I have great fun memories from it! I remember the game room, the pool, and when we went skiing. I had no idea that its now a casino. Its a shame! Ah well at least i have my memories.

  • I glimpsed Rodney Dangerfield among the nightlife entertainers offered here!

  • to bad the whole place went to hell

  • Thank you! This was a late night TV staple. I expect to see an episode of Star Trek or Twilight zone following the commercial. Thank you for posting it and bringing back good memories of my insomnia!

  • haha...I remember these commercials for the Poconos when I was a kid..I use to hate them..LOL

  • bartman xoxo..the majority of these resort owners get their money from some type of mob circle..you should research that, there was no purpose for u to place that information HERE...anyway i worked at the new casino (mt airy) and had the chance to meet Denaples and hes a great guy and what he did with mount airy was very smart and very wise.

  • DeNaples, owner of Mount Airy Casino Resort in northeastern Pennsylvania, faces four counts of perjury for allegedly lying about contacts with four men to get a casino license. Two of the men are reputed mobsters and the other two were at the center of a political corruption scandal in Philadelphia.

  • Get a knife in your back in the Poconos......Meet a crook from New York in the Poconos.....

  • @70goldtop LMFAO

  • OMG! I remember these commercials! This really brought me back in time =)

  • My family went to Mt. Airy Lodge several times a year from 1969 to 1989, and then a few times until the early 90's. I went back and saw the demolition in 2005 :-(

I've begun a blog for others to share those memories, pics, etc. at "mountairylodgememories 'dot' blogspot 'dot' com"

  • you run a site based on that shit hole? nah jk. i nvr wnt thr ever, but i wanted to when i was a kid in the 80's

  • Holy cow!!! I totally forgot about that commercial. God I love you tube!!!

Anyone grow up going to Pallisades Park or Asbury Park???

  • I did! Was said the day Pallisades closed,

  • I did. Was very sad the day Pallisades closed.

  • LMAO, I remember these commercials so well... It amazes me how much the world has changed since I was a kid

  • it had a sister resort, Pocono Gardens for couples only.we went to Pocono Garden on first anniv. '86. It was great. Stayed from friday night- sunday morning, All meals including tips. round bed, fireplace, heart shape jacuzzi, fridge, sauna indoor heated pool, private deck for nude sunbathing.all for $500 .took our 4 yr old son to Mt Airy in 92 for same price. Mt Airy was family oriented but we got the exact same suite as Pocono Garden. Son loved the jacuzzi with bubbles . all meals included.

  • "226-0841, your honeymoon hotline, for honeymoon fun-

    226-0841, the Pocono Gardens Lodge....!"

  • My husband and I spent our honeymoon at the old Mt. Airy Lodge in October, 1960. What a wonderful place it was. Quiet, beautiful, a get-a-way for honeymooners. We went back in 1985 and spent our 25th anniversary there. We were happy to see it was still there. Now it is a casino - and the old Mt. Airy is no more. Too bad but everything has it's day. We have great memories!!!! and 5 kids and 12 grandchildren hee hee!!!

  • Bloodhoundcd, Usually when someone puts the letters "CD" in a screen name/username - it means "cross dresser"

    LOL, I'm serious, not joking

  • did anybody actually go there? lol i was too young to get laid but it looked awesome

    weird

  • I worked for someone who said he got drunk in Philadelphia at a party in college, and wound up at Mt. Airy Lodge. So, I guess people and not just the ones of the commercials, actually went there.

Apparently, it was THE place to go!

  • Someone post the ad for the Commack Motor Inn, Please? "The disco room, with its flashing lights!" That was the cheesiest ever!

  • Commack Motor inn!!! HAAAAAAAA! I got laid quite a few times there! Heart shaped tub and padded walls!!!!

  • Men dont count. LOL JK

  • Wow, I can't believe how long it has been! Does anybody else remember the commercials for the "Kew Motor Inn"? I grew up in Kew Gardens and always wanted to go.

  • Comment removed

  • Pass it by all the time. For my wedding in 1980 we mistakenly placed some very old relatives there, and I'm sure the mirrors on the bedroom ceiling, along with the heart-shaped tub and the "sensible hourly room rates", really spiced things up for their evening.

  • Does anybody know when this first aired? I recall seeing it during the first half of the Seventies.

  • They had various commercials with this jingle. I'm inclined to think that they started sometime around '78, and ran until sometime in the mid 80s, when the jingle was updated ("All you have to bring is your love of everything...") Maybe the commercials started earlier though, I'm not certain.

  • i'm looking for the commercial with the theme song, must have been late 80s early 80s, it goes now is the perfect time and the season is just right? anyone remember it?

  • The glory days of places like this in upstate PA (or NY) are long gone. How sad!

  • now's the perfect time. the season is just right. we can play all day and dance into the night. at beautiful mount airy lounge, all you have to bring is your love of everything. all you have to bring is your love of everything, beautiful mount airy lodge."

  • The 80s was cool. There was no internet.

  • This is when the Jokonos were actually decent before all the New York scumbags destroyed it by moving here.

  • Man I remember this when I used to watch cartoons after school on WPIX when I was a kid. BTW doesn't the guy in the ski lift look like The Mouth of the South Jimmy Hart from the WWF?

  • yes!

  • i havent seen this 1 ever since i was a child

  • Lots of minorities and spanish coming into this area. The good times of the poconos are over it seems. It's really starting to look trashy over there. The 60's , 70's and 80's are just a memory. I predicted all this and it's only going to get worse.

  • People can give you thumbs down all they want,it's still not gonna change the reality you speak of.

  • but they finally built something to replace it

  • wow i live right near there. that place is trashed and its so sad to see it that way. my dad used to work there when i was little. my friends broke into it and trashed it even more

  • If you listen close enough, you can hear this jingle in the movie "We Own The Night". The scene is when Mark Wahlberg gets shot. Man, did that bring back memories. LOL

  • I heard from someone they had a car radio crammed into some plywood, that was the radio in the room LOL

  • love seeing these old commercials really takes you right back in time...

  • That hotel was knocked down and replaced with a casino resort. The red heart shaped tubs were available for sale.

  • I am more familiar with the jingle. now is the perfect time and the seaons is just right you can play annd day.... anyone have that one ?

  • this place is out, mr german die,the other kill him self, this family was all mix up, mrs susan was nice but a drunker, susan the daughter nice girl victor papacito lol

they are out of business now there is a cacino there, they loss all the money, nice place i use to work there,

  • They actually had 4 versions of the MAL ad, w/the activities shown and first line of the jingle changing based on the season ("Have a fling in the spring", "Have a summer of fun", "Have a ball in the fall").

  • I have to wonder what kind of "Headline Entertainment" they had right before they closed.

  • Anyone have the jingle/commercial they played later on in the 80's/90's?

Went sumthin like "All you have to BRING...Is your love of everyTHING.... Beeeuuutiful Mount Aiiiiry Lodge!!" (that song will forever be bunred into my brain lol)

  • That's the one I'm looking for too lol!

  • i will survive

  • My mom and dad went to the playboy resort for New Years eve 76...i was supposed to be conceived that night...but daddy's boys were not feeling up to par on that particualr evening....so they tried again a few months later and presto here i am today!

  • TMI!

  • we see Tony Bennett & Rodney Dangerfield as some of the "Headline" entertainment. I wonder just how many times stars like this really performed there?

  • yes they have nices singers they even julio iglesias was there in 87 if I'm not mistaken,

but the usual where nice too, ill will always remenber joy quezada and his piano man song,

  • They need a new jingle:

Have a fine winter time dodging tumbleweed

    Lots of gloom empty rooms

    At the Poconos

    Boarded up Mount Airy Lodge...

  • Does anyone out there have the commercial for the Nevele hotel and resort (in the Catskills)???

  • Oh I've been looking for that one too! I stayed there in the 1970's, wonderful place.

  • I've seen it on youtube-"at the Nevele, there's so much to do, or don't do a thing, you can do that too, you can have it all, and it's up to you, at the Neveleeeee...". Pretty cool commercial for a lousy little hotel.

  • This place has been since torn down. I was there in the mid 1990's It was nice back in the 1960's but was really crappy when I was there it closed in 1999

  • Fabulous. Made me misty.

  • Anyone have the newer commercial to this? With the jingle

Now's the perfect time, and the season is just right

You can play all day and dance into the night

At beautiful Mount Airy Lodge all you have to bring

    is your love of everythingggg

  • yea!! im looking for this one...

  • badump

  • yeah thats the one i am looking for

  • @mlueyat i have been looking for the "Now's the perfect time" version for a long time. Perhaps lost forever...

  • REMEMBER THIS! You rule.

Hey, anybody out there have the Barbi Benton commercial for the Playboy resort in NJ?

  • I work with someone who worked for the Playboy Club in Atlantic City back in the early 1980s. He laughs if he gets asked about it!
