  • repeat. repeat. repeat

  • Think to yourself that every day is your last. The hour to which you do not look forward will come as a welcome surprise. As for me, when you want a good laugh, you will find me in fine state... fat and sleek, a true hog of Epicurus' herd.

  • Red Dragon <3

  • What orchestra performed this, please? It's such a beautiful performance. I used it as the background music for signing out, when I was on the radio many years ago (a little classical station). It brings back such beautiful memories. Many thanks for posting this!

  • im doing my ballet dance to this(: go ACB!!! :D

  • Wonderful flute solo at the end...I'm playing that part in an audition too...

  • @HD3999 As am I. I'm losing my mind. You? (Ahhh there's no where to breath)

  • Gotta love those accents on beat two :)

  • ugh, every time I see this in a clarinet audition, a piece of me dies.

  • @superiorbandgeek oh jesus I'm practicing the flute solo for an audition and I'm going mental.

  • this is in tetro!

  • Oh to compose... !

  • I love the fact you are all talking about the flautist being in trouble, and so flippant.... Have any of you people ever seen what Hannibal Lecter does to the guy who gets this wrong?

  • @Loobs666

lol, hahaha, he cooked and served that guy to the symphony orchestra board members.

  • Oh noo! the last G of the flute solo is cut! x)

But, however, it's a fine fine piece OuO

  • que excelente pieza musical

  • The flute solo at the end is used for conservatory auditions. Highly difficult breathing, one phrase requires 18 measures of straight playing, unless the conductor allows the flutist to cut one note.

  • Where can I purchase this version on audio CD or mp3, as part of the entire composition? Maybe you could at least tell me more details about the performance (e.g. conductor, year, flutists) that would help me find it. Thank you.

  • a truly FIENDISH piece to play for woodwind!!!!!!!!!

  • So all the piano versions of this piece on youtube....did Mendelssohn transcribe his orchestral composition to piano or did another composer do it?

  • @1980NewWave Rachmaninov transcribed it.

  • It's difficult to find a version with the good tempo on this piece. i think this one is fine; thank you.

  • Reminds me a bit of the scherzo from Beethoven's opus 125 in places, but is more lighthearted, less intense and driving.

  • i had to dance to this song ...i got first place....i was 12......my teacher said ive reached my limits in dance and she said i should stop...but she said that cause after i danced all i mean all of the song i collapsed at the end....but hey i still love to listen to this song!

  • @ragenfromheaven341 I'm sure that's true.

  • I can't hear the opening notes anymore without listening in my head to the following lines:

    "I'm Floyd Robertson . . . "

    "And I'm Earl Camembert . . . "

" . . . and this is the SCTV News."

  • @wmbrown6 Same here,LOL.

  • Is this the piece that you hear in the intro of Red Dragon?

  • Yes.

But if I told you, you wouldn't even try it.

  • just read this in english and finished the book a couple of days ago and now i have an essay to write. and i remember this is Titania loving Bottom while she tells the faries to get her food for bottom.

  • im playing the flute solo at the end of this in my exam, its so fast!!

  • What orchestra is this?

  • alguien sabe como se llama la pintura

  • Titania awakes and falls in love with Bottom (Dunno if that's the real name)

    By Johann Heinrich Füssli, 1794

  • The first few seconds were used by "SCTV" for their "AM News" sketches with Floyd Robertson (Joe Flaherty) and Earl Camembert (Eugene Levy) in the show's first (1976-77) season.

  • @wmbrown6 "And that's the news".

  • Hello,

This is fine... but the volume is awfully low. If you ever re-post it, I hope you can get the volume better.

    Cheers, EA
