@misfire33 Agreed. I don't get a Tales or Castlevania vibe from this at all. If you HAD to compare it to another games soundtrack, I think it sounds more like Ys than anything, but above all it sounds like Homestuck. This song has pretty much everything good in the world combined into one - Chiptune, guitar, violin, and an awesome melody. You'd be hard pressed to find a song as badass as this one.

@Froodjakle 3 months later it's highly unlikely this will actually be read, but many parts of the song sound very familiar to Bloody Tears from the Castlevania series. Being a Castlevania junky I should know this. You can disagree, however I'm well aware of what my favorite games soundtrack sounds like, and I'm also aware it this song has it's own twists.

@Hollowomegasbeast I'm guessing you're referring primarily to the part around 0:42? I can hear some similarities, but in truth that's a pattern used by many songs, so I don't attribute it to Bloody Tears. Is there any particular version of Bloody Tears you think sounds the most similar? I was using the original version from Simon's Quest for comparison.

@Froodjakle I've re-listened to it many times and I've noticed it is a massive compilation and truthfully I think it sounds most like Dawn of Sorrow's perhaps. Bloody tears hasn't really changed at all.

I really couldn't give less of a damn about what this song "sounds like." It sounds like itself. It is a tribute to videogame music in general, which means that it's a medley of numerous samples of music. So, really, it can sound like ANY of the songs people have been comparing it to in the comments.

What's the point of just going on about how "it sounds like this or that?" Dance of Thorns is its own piece. It's an awesome cooperation of violin and guitar, with a catchy tune. Sweet.

Those comments were pretty much pointless since, as I said, it's a tribute to video game music samples in general.
