In 1992 X completely dominated Pippen. Had The Knicks kept X in 1993, I swear they would've beaten Chicago, and most likely, Phoenix. Charles Smith and Greg Anthony SUCKED!

I'm a die hard Bulls fan but i gotta say those 1992 and 1993 playoffs versus the Knicks scared me to death because of Starks. I know MJ describe Dumars as his toughest guy to ever guard him but Starks to me was the real deal. If you're talking about Jordan stopper, his name come first to my mind. He got the skills and the mind set to be that guy. Thank God MJ got the edge but i really respect Starks.

Regardless of what the naysayers and his critics may say, I LOVE John Starks, he will always be one of my favorite players who gave 100% each time he stepped on the court and someone who was always smiling even after tough losses. The standing ovation he got when he returned to the Garden in 1999 pretty much said it all. He most definitely got the HEART of a CHAMPION and was freakin... awesome!!!

I was a child growing up New York during this era so I clearly agree.

It's funny how the NBA has recruited more worldwide talent since the 1990s, and yet that era (Jordan, Magic, Bird, Barkley, Ewing, Olajuwon, early Shaq) remains more memorable even to many outside NY and the US at large.

And the NBA on NBC marketing and programming was simply amazing.

Being from Illinois, its disheartening to see him get down and kiss the floor of MSG, Jordan doing the same to the floor at the Chicago Stadium makes it seem like a copycat. Yeah this piece is good, from 1992 to 1996, he was the best player on that team not named Patrick Ewing.
