A friend of mine payed £500,000 for one of them. He won't even let anyone touch it. If you would like to buy the Ferrari gto, please inbox me as he wants to sell it. P/x Lamborghini (any), Ferrari (any), Maserati (any).
my fathers friend in russia has one and he got it from his father when his father died he had this rare ferrari 250 gto and im going to see him up in russia and take a spin for it
Alex, Great vid. That car was owned by an Arizona family since about 64. He raced it a few times and then it became his daily driver. When the old man couldn't drive it any more they decided to sell it. The car is a survivor and has never been restored. When Brandon Wang bought it they were going for 5-6 million. That is the second GTO Wang owns. Of course we all know what they go for now.
@lindo745 Actually 4219 GT was owned by Bev Spencer a car dealer in San Francisco bay area. Bev purchased this GTO in 1963 after it won the Daytona Continental with Pedro Rodriguez at the wheel also in 63'. Bev Raced the GTO a bit in Northern California then sold to George Dyer in 1964 for $12k. Bev actually took a $2k loss on the GTO. George was an old friend of mine. He passed away many years ago. I know the history because I brokered the GTO to Brandon.
@maxrevz Thank you for filling in more of the back story on this car. I sorta knew the history from George Dyer forward. Back when I had a Palm Pilot I had all the GTOs with build dates, serial numbers, and owners at the time. I've since lost all of that data. I have loved these cars since I was 10 years old and that was a long time ago. To date I've not seen one in in the flesh. I've build models and collected info but that's about it. There is a 330 powered replica on eBay right now.
Hey Alex Great find! i was wondering if you could find/found the new Porsche boxster spyder, it may not be a rare car but it looks beautiful!! I wasn't a fan of the older model though
WoW! Congratulations on even seeing one of these beautiful cars Alex. The most beautiful Ferrari ever made. It's funny to me how people often see the older cars as interesting, but think they are slower than modern supercars. Because these GTOs can reach 60 in 5-ish seconds and 175 top speed! And I'm so happy to see this car is obviously still used competitively. It is a race car after all. So cool. B¬)
Also... Out of interest, I got an insurance quote on this car, I'm 23 with two years no claims.... for a car worth around $15m, it only costs me £10k a year to insure
@benzieproductions Thanks a lot man! But although the car is spot-worthy, I'm not THAT satisfied with the video itself lol! But don't worry... Many many more to come! I'm going to Monaco tomorrow for 5 days ;)
@passingbynight Thanks a lot for your comment! I couldn't agree more on the historical and rarity of this spot! I'm really proud of having spotted one! :D
Someone where I live had one and sold it for £8million before the price went even bigger. They bought two in the 70s and I'm not sure if they still own the other. Ps anyone that doesn't believe me I can show you proof.
J'en ait vue une il n'y a pas longtemps sur le "periph" de Lyon. Elle etait arrete sur une bande d'arret d'urgence !! Immatriculation Suisse ( normale) ! Un moment historique !
@F14BigAl Hmmm... it all depends on our definition of "rare"! If we mean "uniqueness", then yeah, the MIGU1 is by far the rarest I've seen (only one lol). If we mean "historic importance and part of the automotive history", this one takes the prize home no contest! :P
@F14BigAl There way are more Enzos and Zondas than there are 250 GTO's..... Not to mention the fact a Gemballa Enzo is not even a stock Enzo. There have also been 250 GTO's that have sold for nearly 30 Million so you are looking at a very rare car in this video.
@FerrariDMC I don't think price matters, it's the production run that counts. Okay, maybe the Gemballa doesn't count because it's not stock, but for instance there are only 5 Zonda Cinque Roadsters, I have seen one of the five but I don't think I have seen one of 250 GTOs produced. I have seen a rarer car than the GTO, it's the Cinque.
@F14BigAl Zonda is powered by an AMG engine, so to me its just not a "true" car like a 250 GTO. If it had been a Mercedes, than I'd think otherwise. I'm sure it was fun to take a walk around though. :)
@FerrariDMC just cause the company didn't make the car, doesn't mean a "ture car," look at all the Lancias that used ferrari engines, or the McLaren F1 for using a BMW engine. but yea the 250 GTO will always have a special place in every car enthusiests heart.
@daltonklinkenberg My thought is McLaren has a name and racing history behind it as does the Lancia. Maybe in ten of fifteen years I will think of the Zonda the same way. Please don't think I'm trying to argue my point, its just how I feel about it.
@FerrariDMC i know and respect your point, and see how you feel about it, and vise versa. im saying just cause the car is a newer one and different, still give it a chance, i think pagani will be inbetween ferraris techonolgy and lambos insanity. and ferrari was beginning where pagani was now at one point
@Nikolaben2 I also agree 100% with you! I prefer the red 250 GTO, mostly because it's the historic color of Ferrari, and this is such a piece of history! But then again, no matter the color, the lines are the same and simply and purely amazing! :)
@germancarslover Thanks a lot! I'm glad you like this video of automotive history!! I don't usually film "old cars", but I have to admit that this one deserved its own little video! Hell, quite a few, but let's not exagerate! :)
@SpotterGijs Actually the stickers are just for the Tour Auto, although you probably knew that lol (they added it after it arrived, but I missed the arival of the car, sadly......)!!! :(
@ClaritySWE Well, like I said, I'm pretty sure indeed yeah. This one in particular is quite known in the automotive world. Everyone knows it's Brandon Wang's. Some 250 GTO's can't be "replicas" because they're too exposed! :P
@TuningProductions Thanks man! I'm glad you liked it! I've never heard of a 250 GTO in "bad condition" though haha! That car is so lengendary every owner must take really good care of it... sadly I didn't think of checking out the chassis, but it can easily be found on registers and stuff like that I guess! :P
A friend of mine payed £500,000 for one of them. He won't even let anyone touch it. If you would like to buy the Ferrari gto, please inbox me as he wants to sell it. P/x Lamborghini (any), Ferrari (any), Maserati (any).
