Now THAT'S what I call "male bonding"....each of my sons deserves a trip like this and I'm determined to make it happen. I didn't even want a Sonex until I watched this video. I'm going to have to rethink my plans....Thanks for sharing such a cool video!
At 7:07 you see the Cirrus and say "That is a real plane and...here is my Sonex". Well keep in mind: If you didn't build it yourself, it's not really yours...;-) Very nice video.
If you listen closely I then quickly/foolishly said "Mine's Better" at which point my son laughed because he knew it wasn't true and there was no convincing me otherwise... :-)
Well... it was too short! We were trying to get to the marina to rent the boat to get to the cave to swim under the tunnel to get into the grotto that Jack built (err, uhh...) The road just ended at a dirt path and we didn't realize THAT was the marina, so we turned around and went up a hill and all of the sudden we were back at the airport realizing THAT was the marina. Anyway - short answer: YES - we got LOST, for 10 minutes, on a tiny island with ONE road, and YES - we had a MAP.
Yes actually. I emptied most of the tank to make space (weight) for baggage. But I left a little and it came in handy for doing a smoking flyby of the White Crown Aviation staff at N Eleuthera - they were all quite taken by the plane and always parked it next to the jets. Funny.
Aaron, all I can say is you are an inspiration to go out and enjoy life. I hope my wife will let me do HALF the things in my Sonex that yours does!! Good Job!
Great video, Aaron! Thanks for sharing! I'd sure like to hear more about it if I see you at the new england gathering this summer. That underwater cave looked especially cool!!
Well I've only got 2 or 3 toys, but yes you're right - they're cool I guess (in a kind of life-threatening un-cool way). I'm not allowed to have more than that or I get a spanking. It's a little handheld Sanyo HD camera - actually it's not as good as most handheld video cameras you get in the store these days... But it's WICKED waterproof. Couldn't believe it actually worked that well under water. Sweet.
What An Epic Trip!!
