  • Yes, really, thank you everyone who dowloaded this series. Being American, I became aquainted with AbFab many years ago and have heard that Dawn French also had her own series. I have been curious for some time what it was like. Now I am hooked. These characters are absolutely endearing, as odd or pretentious as some of them may be. Quite an accomplishment! Thanks again!

  • I also watched this on PBS(WTTW) here in Chicago and ultimately bought the whole series on DVD. This was my first knowledge of Dawn French and have since become a huge fan of hers(and Jennifer Saunders as well). They are both brilliant and definitely the UK's comedic treasures.

  • @Gecko7291971 Yes, I love this show here in Chicago..... WTTW Channel 11 shows a lot of the BBC Comedy shows.... God, I do miss this one.... But I still see As Time Goes By on Channel 11 on Sundays.........

  • Some years ago, through and email that BBC would send out every so often, I won a Vicar of Dibley trivia contest.

    My reward, a complete DVD set of the Vicar of Dibley series!!

    Whenever I feel the need for a good laugh or pick me up I

    pop a disc in the player and enjoy. It works wonders.

  • I used to have a girlfriend who was like Geraldine, and her mum is a curate in a small village just like Dibley. Bit of a dream come true, I always fancied Geraldine. Shame it didn't last, but then again, what does.

  • I started watching this show in Portugal and it was one of the best shows that was played on television screens. Its a pity that is over!!!

  • the frist series will bring back memories for me as i got into these when my hubby was deployed for the gulf in 2003, amazingly these kept me going. i watched these everynight to send me to sleep, thanks to all the cast of these great episodes that kept me smiling in the darkest times of my life.

  • thats a bit mean really, i've met lots of lovely vicars, my favourite one was a woman one, absolutley lovely. and the most recent vicar at my church has a brilliant sense of humour and let us film in our comedy his church!
