Currently we have a different model "Led strip Magic color" Cheaper, not so complex and better controller. This one is not Waterproof but IP65 (splashwaterproof)
@TheYellowlines the setup that he is using is the default controller that comes with the lights, including the remote control, it comes with a base of 92 effects built in, it can also be controlled with arduino and many other controllers. it uses the HL1606 IC chips in the actual light strip.

What's the failure rate? I've LED's in strips fail within 5 minutes... For a permenant installation this would be bad, of course.
