@danagan You are a complete moron and are part of the reason these cameras are needed. Your ignorance is almost unbearable. They take pictures of fools like you who roll around corners running pedestrians over because if you don’t stop and check to ensure everything is safe to proceed. Believe or not it’s because of people just like you, these cameras should always be used. I just feel sorry for the people you happen to live around, careless thinking hurts and kills people.
A lot of "Red Light Cameras" are set up so to start taking photos if your are going so fast at a set point. Some one has done some math and said at point X if the car is going Y MPH the camera needs to start taking the photos.
Most of the camera systems used when they do start taking photos with take one be for you get to the line. One when you are at the line and then one as you go thru the intersection. But not all town use the same systems and not all systems work in the same way.
you have to make a complete stop, but it was flashing way before you got there.....either way you still didnt stop lol I hope u got off on a technicality
technically you must fully stop before the white line and only procede once the way is clear. the white car went past the white line, and almost stops, before proceding.
what I saw wasn't that dangerous but my vote is you legaly did run a red there.
I have to agree & disagree.... First of all, yes, the camera did flash too soon, but then again it probably also checks your speed, which you were going a bit fast right before the line. Another thing which it would've flashed too was because you pretty much ran the light.
@skuloop easy- Each "ticket" that is issued, a large percentage of the "fine" is paid to the company that builds the scameras while the municipality gets very little. The 6th Amendment of the US Constitution is misrepresented here. (I would fight any scamera ticket and so should everyone else)
The cameras did their job and yes, you ran the light. You did a rolling stop and that's illegal. Now there's a lesson you will not forget. Come to a complete stop and do not go over the stop line. Even if you don't pass a cross walk but pass a stop line, you already went through the light.
I agree. Complete stop must be made before stop line. Clearly rolled through pedestrian right of way and further failed to stop completely. It sucks, but it is to make sure you actually look (I have nearly been run into because of them not expecting me to get a green left nearly every week here).
Camera flashed when you hit the first white line. It was right on, not early. You are supposed to come to a COMPLETE STOP at the white line. Then look to make sure there is no cross traffic and it is safe to proceed. Then turn right. Instead, you just rolled thru a red light without stopping. Sorry, but guilty.
If that was a reply to my post,, I have no idea what you mean or what your point is. If it wasn't to my post, I still have no idea what your point is...
Im just agreeing with you that the right on red cameras are doing their job. I think its great that people who make minimum wage are being fined $500 for slowly rolling through a red light to make a right turn at 4am when there are little are no cars on the road. What this guy did was illegal and reckless. By not making a complete stop for a right hand turn he was clearly obstructing emergency vehicles and putting innocent lives in danger. GUILTY.

You have to come to a complete stop before reaching the limit line, all you did was yield.

You have to come to a complete stop, meaning the tires are no longer moving. It's not considered a stop if you slow way down.

Complete stop FIRST, then you can make a right. You rolled right through it.. and cameras always flash twice.
