Damn, i love 3rd edition! Monk's are fun if you play wisdom-based and take improved stunning strike. The dc gets higher with wisdom. Dat means: STUNS for all de evil basterds. WUUZAAA!!!
One time our tiefling warlock pushed this npc ranger that was helping the party of this wall that everyone was trying to sneak over just because he was bord.
not to mention the fact that bluff is a charismatic skill and a Bard is a pure charismatic and intelligence based class, so naturally the bard would have a high bonus to such skills having more ranks in these than others
if you do look at the fact the DM is more of a story DM than a core rule DM then that was a plausible thing, a story DM would not willingly make a superpowerful NPC, one with a saving throw higher than a character's natural saving throw, that is a core rule DM thing to do, the difference being a story DM would keep his players in line within the parameters of his story a core rule DM would keep his players characters in line using anything at his disposal
considering how the Paladin just went off in search of an "evil-doer" outside with his very known stupid party members inside with a prisoner, i think he would've had a better save against bluff check. and considering how the DM wants story, i doubt he would've made the paladin easily bluffed.
Actually if you play any kind of table top games you'll uinderstand majority of the jokes. The issues and challenges are universally encountered by all table top games. Only the more suble jokes. Like the Bard playing in combat situation won't be really understood by those that don't play D&D or have not played it in years.
Totally loved it when the hand passed him the note after his bardic knowledge roll. But I do have a couple of points here. First, not all paladins are that stupid. They can be great if played right. I for one play a bard. But I play them well and my bards do much better than the one in the movie. Second note, Joanna said eariler she was lawful good. So she shouldn't have stood by while the guy was being tortured either.
second point: not arbitrarily. being lawful good likely implies strict obedience to a good moral code, but wouldn't necessarily include all of the same aspects of a paladin's code. a lawful good character might allow torture of an evil undead villian if they could see that it would help the greater good. or they might not, depending on the character.
Sorry, Drakonische, but you couldn't be more wrong. As Gary Gygax said back in the good ol days of D&D before there was even a 2nd ed., "Lawful Good does not mean Lawful Stupid". Just because the DM in the video played the paladin like a total imbecile doesn't mean you have to! Nuff said
Wow, this video makes me rly want to play. I am kinda a wannabe gamer. I play plenty of PC games and know the basic DnD rules but I am only thirteen and it's a bit overwhelming, different versions and stuff. I am in a bit over my head, if anyone has some pointers and tips to get me on the right track it would be greatly apreciated
when I was a paladin in my party, I knew how to play it without the giant stick up my butt. We actually had a good time for our entire campaigning career. When done right, paladins can be tolerable.
xD and this is why our house rule is that social skill rolls never effect players and only roleplaying does. To avoid the "ninja outside" conundrem haha
you know what's weird. they took away the bard's ability to use weapons, wear armor, and cast spells, and yet for some reason, he's no worse for it. he sucks just as much.
lol, If I would be the DM, I would give the bard some not so nice presents (such as kids and STD's...) lol... Darkwinter, depending on situation, those could be very lawfull acts, I mean he killed prisoners that try to escape (even if they had petty crimes) that is against the law.. lol
I wish that was the case the game I'm currently in has a paladin who thinks nothing of dangling foes off a clif and when their brethren attack have them thrown off the cliff, let alone killing unarmed prisoners or stabbing a prisoner in the back when he hasn't done anything to deserve it even if he's slightly "evil" there's a difference between lawful stupid and lawful homocidal after all...
To those who post and watch this- please know that if this keeps people from buying the DVD, you're aren't taking money from some faceless mega-corp, but from struggling artists & gamers who devoted years of their lives to this... and collaborators like myself who are juggling multiple jobs and family to try to make things like this. Not to get preachy, but getting cheap and stealing from indie filmmakers is just lame. If you enjoyed this, please buy the freaking DVD! It's not that expensive!
i am aware of the first(why would i watch a second series of something without watching the first). i had mistaken your previous post as "smite *thy* with thy mighty blade"
Nonsense. *Waves hand* There is plenty of room for us.

DarthGaras 2 years ago
In my personal opinion, I must disagree. Because there IS a story it is in fact more fun then just jokes without a true connection behind them.
And I saw the first Gamers like a million times.
DarkAmnael 2 years ago
I dunno. People can laugh more watching a stand up comic rather than a comedy series even if the series has more story.
DarthGaras 2 years ago
It is the correct mix, I suppose.
And it helps to know what they make fun of. I mean, basicly, If you're not into D&D you wont understand half of the jokes.
