  • jja...Ray appears to have psychotic look,,,, the mother carries the child quickly 0:01

  • i like your comment thelmasss

  • I respect all opinions, but since this was mentioned... I love The Kinks, but they were the most basic band from the 60's 'cause they were not trying to be what everyone was doing just because it was trending. For example, compared to the Stones and the Beach Boys, they didn't become psychedelic when the Beatles started psychedelism. And the Beatles made songs that really seemed like Starstruck in their 66's albuns like Rubber Soul and Revolver, wich means they were ahead of any other band...

  • haha very funny. nice to see all original members.love that video.<3

  • Interesting pic. I've only seen her with the frost-blond wig. - Naked Lady Gaga. C0000M - -

  • 3OH3s vershion is much better

  • A not such famous number of the Kinks, but I know it since 1985.

What I`m missing here in Youtube is "Paper Mache, cabbages and kings", a rare Bee Gees number of 1973 or so.

  • Can you believe this album was released on the same day as The Beatles' "White Album" (Nov. 22. 1968)? HOW THE HELL DO YOU WIN THAT FIGHT?! LOL.

  • @MattHatter Yeah, I really feel sorry for the Beatles.

  • @MattHatter Yeah, I really feel sorry for the Beatles. Village Green > White

  • @babiesmakinbabies HA HA HA!

  • @MattHatter and the same week as "are you experienced" by Jimi Hendrix!!! NO WONDER THEY ONLY SOLD 25,000 COPIES IN THERE FIRST YEAR!

  • Keep thinking that Ray was writing ART LOVER while filming this ! " Come to Daddy ! "

  • the women at the start is so scared for her child :O

  • I guess the was one of the last video featuring the original members at Pete Quaife left shortly after, but its good to see Pete in this

  • I love seeing their live videos. Just shows how superior they are to todays musicians. They actually sing all their own songs.

  • I love this song, it gets stuck in your head for days! I love seeing the original band so young and happy together in this video.

    p.s niced arse Ray!

  • deliciously Kaotic vid

  • WTF is goin' on in this video? Lmao. Ehh, who cares though; they're just having fun. Great video of a fantastic song. What else would you expect from The Kinks?!

  • Check out frames 1:22 to 1:25 Ray's shakin' his bum! Great vid of The Kinks!

  • MY GOD< SO MUCH FUN

  • THEY'RE SO CUTE!!!!!! I just want to give them all hugs.

  • Pete Quaife, RIP.

  • This vid and tune are so sweet, love it

  • incredible tune from superb lp.

  • definatly the best song called "starstruck"

especially better than all those damn modern ones

  • Its nice to see a video like this where they are just being themselves.

Nowadays it has to be a big huge stage production.

    Simple really is better.

  • One of a few dozen Kinks songs that seem like obvious hits had they ever been released as singles.

  • Great Song!

  • I love this video! It's soooo so cute and it always makes me smile n___n

  • Great Band.

  • Such a great song!

  • kidzzz sup fool deer rooo

  • Oh, I love this song and its video. They are so cute !!!

  • The Fleeting Ends will be playing this song at their residency at MilkBoy Coffee in Ardmore PA on Thursday Feb. 4th! The Fleeting Ends do the 60s! Should be a good set...

  • One of my favorite Kinks songs

  • i always laugh when the mother leads her child away at the beginning of this video...like, who are you and why are you near my child? lol...

  • actually that was pete saying good bye to his wife and kid as he was gonna go shoot a video with the other kinks.

  • ahhhhhh....that is soooooo cool! i never would have known! :) the scene makes more sense now, lol! :) :) :) thanks for that! :)

  • yeah i guess the kid didnt wanna go and wanted to stay with daddy, you should read the book kink its by dave davies its one of the best books ive ever read and it talks about how he got a girl pregnant before the kinks were famous and how his manager kept her away from him cause they were about to make it big,it shows a picture of his daughter in the book she looks just like him.

  • dear God, that's a heartwrenching story. i can't imagine enduring the difficult emotions entwined in a situation like that. i'm hoping to get my hands on that book soon. i've been dying to read it!

  • I want one vid ike this with my friends :D

  • @thelmasss ORRAY youtube.com/watch?v=7DpLiTsov9Y

  • jjjjajajajaja this is way too cool

  • these vids r way better than modern ones

  • Yep. My favorite British band. Complex harmonies?, no sweat! Neat lyrics by the bushel, too.

  • A COOL Kink song and a video from 1967 shows that they were WAY ahead of most bands.

  • this is from 68 not 67.

  • Can anyone see what Dave says to Pete at 1:27? Something starting with "My ..."?

I love this song and the vid !

  • awesome :D

  • Pete is soo cute!

    Great vid anyway

  • havent seen this for years , cheers.

  • this guys are great!!!

  • Was this filmed in Hampstead Heath?

  • Yes, it was filmed in Hampstead Heath - Ray`s "home zone".

  • the kinks are amazing...:L

  • me too!!! just kinda love the Kinks anyway anyhow,,,,

  • love this song!

  • OMG! Ray gives the finger to the cameraman at 1:24!

  • It's all just different taste friend,. To me Davies is tops in pop rock songwriitng. But I'm not a Stones or Cream fan believe it or not, Vll Green work began earlier then 68 so music is dated perhaps as you say. But as I said I prefer what this music recalls, i,e innoicence. By late 68 your'e right stuff lie Beg B hit big. but I'll always be a Kinks, Marriott & Who freak & let rest of world have Cream & Stones, etc. f you saw my page & all my playlists youd understand my music tastes Cheers!

  • I love the Kinks I love the Kinks I love the Kinks! Did I say I loved the Kinks?!. Brothers Davies extraordinaire - no one can touch Ray Davies for prolific pop rock songwriting - no one ever will. I love this vid recalls such a simple carefree spirited time in Brit Rock. Please set the wayback machine & put me in it because the "worlds not so tame" God Save the Kinks and God Bless 'em! This is one finely done song & of course it's the Kinks that's why!

  • mrmarriottsgirl, now now, don't beat around the bush, somebody might get the impression that you love the Kinks! ;) I do too!

  • I'd love to see these guys reunite with Mick and Pete, the 4 original members. Now THAT would be awesome. Nothing against the other guys, lord knows they were great, but to see the 1964 version of the Kinks together again would be such a treat.

  • looks like you may get your wish rumor has it the original kinks will be going on tour this summer of 09.

  • Oh man I'd love it too. But Pete Quaife has recently announced he has "quit" show business and just wants to be left alone. Meanwhile Ray is off doing choral versions of Kinks songs. Sadly, I doubt a reunion will happen. But we are left with all this wonderful sweet music.

  • Very cool and funny video! =)

  • LOL, this video is so B, I love it.

  • Ah memories . . .

  • I become happy every time when I watch this! ☺

  • To this day there are no equals to the Kinks or Ray Davies songwriting! They and he are not like everybody else. In fact they are in a super class all their own. God save the Kinks,Ray and Dave Davies, and all their fans too! Dan the Fan

  • hi..im a kinks fan..theyre superb!..but that same year..1968 - the stones..beggars banquet = sympathy for the devil, street fighting man,Stray Cat Blues, salt of the earth..also cream's wheels of fire = white room, politician,as you said, deserted cities of the heart...instrumental/songwriting masterpieces & very unique..village green was fantastic but i dont know..i mean its awesome but i have my doubts because it feels a little bit circa 1966 and innocent in contrast of those albums..cheers!

  • Pete looks sooo cute! :)

  • Brilliant!

  • I bought Preservation Society, Arthur, and Muswell Hillbillies over Christmas. Let's just say I'm happily ODing on the Kinks. If somebody held a gun to my head I honestly couldn't say which album or song I liked best. And I didn't mention that I also got the new box set as a gift...

  • LOVE those mellotron figures!

  • you're addicted to wine and champagne

you're taken in by the lights baby

    papa papapaprarara

  • Trivia: This was the last footage with the original line-up. Bassist Pete Quaife left a few months later.

  • Yes, it's time to get them back again, after forty years...

  • This is the greatest music video of all time. The Kinks were at their sexiness peak her, non? Why the hell did Pete have to leave just after this? Whyyyy?

  • What a silly video - looks like fun.

  • i wanna hang out with the kinks in a field in 1968. with scarves. seriously, it looks kinda fun.

  • One must always wear lots of scarves...it's so very "British Invasion/60s"...hee, hee...

  • Count me in!!! Sure does look fun! :D

  • Soy de Argentina, tengo 32 años. A los Kinks los escuche por primera vez en el 95.

  • love '70

  • Terrific! Never seen that before - ta for posting...

    God bless The Kinks!

  • Awesome video! Thanks for putting this up here!

  • One of the original foursomes last singles I imagine (Im assuming this was a single from Village Green)

now if only the Great Lost album would come out!

  • Who was the little child and the two women in the video- their wives?

  • the first woman was petes wife and kid saying goodbye to him.but the second woman was just a woman walking by with her baby.

  • Pete Quaife was weeks away from quitting the band...anybody out there got any KINKS "Colour me Pop" clips from '68?

  • Este video es un documento que en el futuro le mostrare a mis nietos.Gracias
