  • The atmosphere (our protective cover of life) looks great.

  • ¿Pasa muy rápido o es la cámara?

  • @ultrakool I made out some of the locations and assigned labels to it, see watch?v=hxZOOfnsWmQ I used google earth nasa map overlay to get the cities right in this unusual perspective ...

  • who are these 15 people that dislike this amazingly awesome video? Surely, some fanatical anti-earth group who do not value or appreciate the inherit beauty and need to preserve her majesty. Hmm... Republican senators perhaps?

  • ok, i can make out most of the major cities on this, but what is that sprawling crop of lights at 0:17, phoenix metro? slc?

  • @ultrakool Canada

  • @J5MARLON right. after re-observing the trajectory on this and by using chicago (which is unmistakeable on lake michigan) and the twin cities (to the upper left of chicago) as a reference point...it must be the edmonton/calgary area

  • @J5MARLON i stand corrected on my last comment...that area is definitely central north dakota. the minot/bismark area. i'll lay money on it...

  • Fantastic video!

  • WOW!

  • Where do we get more of these videos? You make this a channel on cable, and it would probably come close to award show status in ratings. And the money will follow after that.

  • Awesome? :S :S :S :S

Unfortunately we cannot watch CO2 emissions, because those "lights" are so polluting.

  • awesome

  • that is fucking awesome

  • *---*

  • гарно

  • Lindo.

  • looks very vulnerable.. airbubble being lasered to nether?^^ hope we dont mess up our planet...

  • i saw my town's lights! pretty awesome

  • @dinsubpamant Get a clue, man. We live on a round planet in space. Wake up and join the 21st century.

  • @dinsubpamant Yeah I knew it, you are the UFO Funny Haired Guy from the History Channel.. I KNEW YOU WERE REAL!!!!!!

  • ;) You are ironic and sarcastic... but, I still think is fake. What's with that bright light? Are cities? No way. :))) Looks like a lava. Believe what you want, I have passed through here, I've seen, it's fake and sayonara. I am not interested what others think, I have vertebral column. Fake as 69'. You know what I am talking.

    @calvinsoze

  • how?

  • wonderful!!!!

  • anyone saw the lighting storm at 0:22 ? its so cooll!!!

  • Someone needs a little lesson on how to use After Effects... The stutter here is horrible.

  • Beautiful planet.

  • NASA can't afford a hd camera?

  • Time for China to donate some optical flow technology to NASA.

  • Coruscant

  • If you took all the money spent on war budgeting since the vietnam conflict, to present day, we would be VACATIONING on Mars by now.

  • @MetricHotrodsdotcom So true.

  • @MetricHotrodsdotcom

if you looked at how much we spent going to vietnam and the other wars since then nasa has spent about .5% of what those wars cost the U.S tax payers.. get a clue bro..

  • @roadracer4life thats EXACTLY my point. nasa has only spent .5% of what we have spent on those wars. imagine if NASA spent 100% of that war budget. 14.3 trillion for afghantistan. so, i'd say youre the one who needs a clue.

  • real and straight!

  • @omg666FUCK ,you are correct ! Sometimes im starting to think this is a bad thing!

  • ┌∩┐(●_●)┌∩┐

  • @Troooooooll lol howw u do that

  • i think i can see my house

  • It's very impressive if you think that some thousand years ago (tiny amount to universe's age) humans started to craft tools from stones with zero technology or discovering fire. And now after some years you can see the whole world spinning from the back of your comfort chair.

  • SHAME! 50+ years in space industry n you are showing us something like this which you could have done long time ago. with budget of yours you should be providing people with HD fly over of MARS and other planets. stupid phonies!

  • @ExtraTerrestrials It must be difficult to be both angry AND stupid.

  • @JMajorLITD ,i see your comment to Etra Terrestrails,he makes a good point,i been thinking for a while i have never been able to find pictures of space from space, its always of the shuttle, iss, rarely the moon, rarely the earth, etc. Im starting to think they dont want us to see something, they never show us a wide shot of space from space of the stars! Has any one noticed this!

  • @sn9696 There are a lot of images of Earth and the Moon, you just need to look on the right sites. Try photojournal.jpl.nasa.gov for images. As far as stars, you can see some in the video above, and there are often stars in other images too but NOT in any images of brightly-lit objects because the exposure is too fast to pick up stars. Go outside one night and shoot a flash photo of the night sky, you won't see stars either! You need a long exposure to pick up stars on camera.

  • @JMajorLITD ,Yes,i have seen images of the Moon and Earth, not as many as there could be! Like i said there is no images of space from space,i know it can be done! Like in this video you can see some stars but i want to see a wide shot picture of space!

  • @sn9696 Go to the Hubble Site. More than enough pics of space with stars!

  • @sn9696 youve never seen the hubble deep field picture/video?

  • Fake! NASA has faked everything from the lunar landing, Challenger blow up, to the ISS. The space shuttle isn't even real. Don't be fooled.

  • @gsv67 Not sure if trolling or just plain stupid.

  • if you look close at 11 sec just above earth about three quaters to your left you can see a something white like a comet going through space, you can see it if you view full screen !

  • @sn9696 Don't forget there's lots of satellites in orbit around Earth. We can see them from the ground, they may be seen as bright reflections from the ISS too.

  • @omg666FUCK ,What ?? Anyways the population in the United States of people being born is going down, but the population is going up do to immigrants.

  • light pollution. sad.

  • mt lindo msm!!! *-*

  • is this Coruscant?

  • @Ataraxschism lol, looks like it.

  • wow.. <3

  • FAKE AND GAY

  • Hey i can see my house from here 0:17

  • Could be in HD! But nice!

  • Aurora Boreal, mt legal!

  • What's that green thing?

  • @Mozitski ,night light for the aliens of corse !

  • @sn9696 Baby aliens need the night light lmao!!

  • I knew that the Earth can look this bright in the night. It looks cool

  • What I liked most about this video was the green glow of the Aurora Bureal. Awesome!

  • gay and fake

  • @2PacsFatherNIGGA ok so you have established what 2pac is, but why is this relevent here?

  • @utrapzab go home

  • @2PacsFatherNIGGA so basically your just a pussy who trolls, probably a little gay and still worshipping some dead crack dealer who happened to be able to rhyme (well done for catching up on your kindergarten skills 2pac)

anyway never mind, 2pac was more gay and more fake than this video

  • @utrapzab whos more gay me or 2pac ?

  • @2PacsFatherNIGGA who knows mate, id say tupac b/c his music certainly was but then i dont know if you sit at home shoving cucumbers up your arse so pointless asking me really. still one thing that definately isnt gay is this video, quite extraordinary actually

  • @utrapzab i think its kinda fake

  • @2PacsFatherNIGGA so its gone from fake and gay to kinda fake which implies its not really fake it just alludes to some 'fakery', lol, back to sleep.

  • @utrapzab why u care so much

  • This video is for teh wimminz

  • is that green light an aurora?

  • If you can see street lights from 30,000 ft, you're damn right you can see from space....

  • Good 'ol Photoshop!

  • I ish they would point their Sony HDR 900 cam towards earth more

  • I think I saw my house!

  • holy shit that IS AWESOME

  • I see this shit on my ps3 every night!

  • I can see my house from here!!!!

  • Loving those thunderstorms!

  • hey i can see my house from here.

  • lightning storm at the top during the last 10 seconds :D

  • all the bright lights ? there too bright ! its not right ... just like on all the other vids can someone please explain

  • @spellgrounds This is a view of the night side of Earth. The city lights are very bright!

  • @spellgrounds Also quite a high exposure so that everything is highly visible but therefore also very bright. :)

  • Our world is magic ;D

  • this looked like an animation, not real footage.

  • Why do people dislike this? It is something beautiful that doesn't happen very often. When we start to forget about the beauty the world produces we start to forget the importance of making sure it stays that way.

  • that is amazing, but sickening to see how lit up the earth is by artificial lights.

  • @gaypotter How is it sickening? Would you rather live in darkness?

  • @chaosproduction YES, or at least have not so many lights. It just shows how badly humans have stained a beautiful planet.

  • @gaypotter It's light, I don't see the problem. It makes our life easier, and I don't see why that is a problem just because you can see it from space. Are you worried you will upset aliens or something?

  • @chaosproduction It looks disgusting and unnatural and we have become far too dependant on 24hour lighting.

  • @gaypotter Well I think it looks nice, and does it really matter? How often will you be going to space to look at the Earth? If you don't like lights I would recommend not using them. It's either that or live in darkness not able to see anything, and would you really want to live in complete darkness just so the planet doesn't have lights on it which can only be seen from space.

  • @gaypotter ,You are right,im sure all that light in space keeps the aliens awake!

  • @chaosproduction I'm butting in on this, but personally I don't see a problem with living in darkness at night and light in the daytime.

People always have done for thousands of years before the electric light was invented.

  • @wks1978 i agree mate would be so much better for the enviroment

  • @wks1978 So you would rather live in darkness just so the planet isn't lit up by artifical lights that can only be seen from space? Why exactly?

Why would anyone want to live in darkness, are you not aware of the advantages of having light.

  • FAKE!

  • no way...thats fucking beautiful

  • nothing i havent seen while astral projecting...

  • @SeanNolan5 lol

  • not enough guns and women in this video for me

  • Fake. The Earth isn't round.

  • So what are we seeing move here, the Planet or the ISS?

  • @MRJAMMYDODGER101 Both, but mostly the ISS. It's traveling at 17,400 mph (28,100 km/h) around the planet!

  • @JMajorLITD Wait, what?. Is that shot real time or time lapsed?. How many orbits of the Earth does the ISS do in a day?.

Also, which city is that at 0:27 just below middle?. It looks like the summit of an active Volcano. xD

    Amazing footage.

  • @Murcuseo This is not real-time, but a bit time-lapsed, yes. The ISS makes, in each 24-hour day, 16 orbits of the Earth. That city is (I think) Jacksonville, FL.

  • @JMajorLITD Many thanks for the reply. :)

  • Imagine if the lights went out "boring"

  • whats that green bit above the earth?

  • @xSaLL97 i think that is the atmoshere

  • @xSaLL97 its a geomagnetic storm, its a solar outburst(coronal mass ejection) that reached the earth mid month October and delivered charged particles into the upper atmosphere. Those charged particles can excite atoms in the ionosphere, which emit light as they return to their unexcited state. The resulting aurorae (aka the aurora borealis) could be seen in parts of more than half the 50 states, people reported sightings in distinctly non-Arctic locales such as Alabama, Virginia and Kansas.

  • @xSaLL97 Aurora Borealis.

  • @xSaLL97 The Northern lights :)

  • So Amazing

  • wow. look at the cities. it's like we suck the energy of earth to light the night.

  • This video needs dancing monkeys.

  • Awesome!

  • What's the green stuff at the top?

  • @Felgroove ur mums fat ass

  • @Felgroove Damn. What a lack of information.

It's the aurora borealis, Einstein...the Northern lights.

  • This reminds me of mudkipz

  • Can't believe all the comments of this being fake. All from God's view.

  • Looks sooo beautiful from up there, Peaceful, Makes you feel bad about the human race wrecking it. -.-

  • @NeoZuan there wasn't when i was commented ugly motherfucker

  • @Adeel2k11 nice attempt at a top comment you fat shit.

  • @Adeel2k11 I love this comment. Good work mate

  • sorry was this animated? looks like it for some reason.

  • @bustagh0st It only looks surreal because very few people actually see it for real and therefore something to compare this clip to

  • @bustagh0st No shit sherlock

  • @Adeel2k11 looks like it but it's real?

who looks like the dumb cunt now.

  • @bustagh0st It's assembled from a collection of still photos, it is not a "video" per se. That's why it looks a bit choppy.

  • @JMajorLITD that's what videos are....

  • @JMajorLITD just a video with lower fps than usual surely.

  • @andydaking1 No, they actually take hi-res still photos from the ISS and then the team at Johnson Space Center in Houston assembles them into a video animation.

  • @JMajorLITD what i meant was that all videos are a collection of stills (frames) and that it looks choppy here because the rate at which they are being shown is not fast enough to create the appearance of continuousness.

  • @andydaking1 Right. I just meant that it wasn't shot with a video camera, but as stills. Some people might think they took low-frame-rate video.

  • @JMajorLITD understood

  • 0:24 LIGHTNING!!!!

  • is full of lights.

  • 0:22-0:26 vegeta?

  • I love The Earth

  • Even Earth has haters :|
