Why? cuz our leaders are stupid! we opened up 2 the communist chinese, we gave/lend technical expertise, our medical advancements, our workforce is hurting bcoz we ship our companies to them! and now their doing the same thing we Americans did in da past Century of Greed, Excesses & luxuries Probably Even Worse now that they becoming a HIDEOUS DRAGON! @marumito You'll be surprised how conservative the Chinese are when it comes to spending. Most Chinese don't live excessive lives or in luxury. They don't live beyond their means like Americans. And the Chinese know how to save money. In fact they seldom use credit cards... because they feel that that's not money they own. On the other hand Americans borrow borrow borrow and spend spend spend... and that why we're in the economic mess we are in.
@marumito China may be spending, but they are investing for the future not for today. They see that there's great potential to grow so they have to buy natural resources and other materials. But that's just in keeping up with the demands of a country that is growing on so many levels. But the average everyday people of China live modestly - they don't earn that much to splurge or live in luxury. I don't think most Americans do either, but they like to pretend they live like it.

If the US had the money they would have locked in those natural resources for themselves -- it's an open market. And yes the Chinese own credit cards, but among those who do very few ever use it like a "credit card" because many of them don't like the idea of owing money, so many of them instead have the option of using them like a debit card.
