Thanks for the very cool vid David - please teach more free lessons on blues licks in context. It's so cool to see how they can be used over backing tracks.
@Wallimann for me the wrost has come with the new subscription browser: there's no more way to know about already watched vids and the ignore" (the "X") button disappeared
as usual mr. wallimann....simple and sweet....that's how i describe your licks.... everybody can play blues...but the question is ...would anyone else listen ..?....and i would listen to yours.....thumbs and toes up...:)
i have seen a lot of blues licks lesson on the internet. But i gotta say these were the tastiest of them all. moreover there were three of them. loved the licks, loved the tone. Thanks David.
Oh David! This is just awesome. You would easily have the most popular and influential guitar channel if you did little lessons like this, but on people's specific styles. For example: Pick 3 B.B. King-style licks and show them in context, 3 David Walliman licks, 3 Paul Gilbert licks, 3 David Gilmour Licks, 3 Paul Kossoff licks, etc. It would probably help people with their ear training to pick out (say that first lick in Thrill is Gone, or Sky is Cryin') in other contexts too. Excellent video!
It's interesting to me how players switch to a 'pinky-less' playing once the blues comes on. I can't make it through the day without my little finger, regardless of setting.
While you were busy reading that, I was stealing all of your licks... :)
@PiotrLatoMusic i think it has to do with bending...atleast for me it does. because when it comes to blues, i dont really plan on when im going to bend...i just kinda do it.
You are a good man for making these videos. Very professional and useful tutorials.

@Wallimann Hey thanks again - I'll really appreciate that.
Even though this vid is only like 1:44 its probably the most inspiring I've seen in ages.
For me, it's concise and to the point of what we should be trying to do with licks etc.
Great stuff David, keep 'em coming.

wow cool licks man... just curious, do you construct that lick by yourself or do you have an inspiration for that lick?
