Hmm...interesting memory refresher....was it kinda a premonition of things to come like revealing the Space people to our people in America that used to be so scared of other peoples from other planets and dimensions? Makes more questions pop into my head for more answers wanted. Treasures can be found digging in dusty history....who'da thunk. Cool vid. ThXs.
You know what's odd? ED doesn't have an article on Rocky and Bullwinkle, there's no porn of Rocky and Bullwinkle... is it possible that Rocky and Bullwinkle are internet proof?
Our story opens today at the Slick Observatory with an International group of scientist, "Eggheads and Double Domes!" Damn, that is funny and he said it with a straight voice.
@SpiritBear12 It was Bill Conrad. But here it sounds like that Keith Scott re-dubbed the narrator for some reason (probably due to bad audio quality and the much-hated laugh track on the original). Only the narrator and Rocky sound redubbed (Rocky voiced appropriately by June Foray), all the others sound original.
@wileyk209zback The original narator was Paul Frees in the first few episodes. But as more characters were being added and his being given more character assignements, Conrad was brought in. The re-recording had nothing to do with the original sound being faulty. If that were the case, the picture would be also. And as you can see, it is pristine, looking far sharper and clean than it was when I first saw it in black and white when it first aired in 1959.
@RayPointer Interesting. Or maybe the re-recording was to eliminate the laugh track in some ways (as I said, only the narrator and Rocky sound re-dubbed, everyone else sounds original.)
I have to admit, though others may not like the look of the debut episode here, I think the designs used look pretty cool! The characters usually stay on model despite some minor glitches (Bullwinkle growing long eyelashes, Boris's red eyes, etc.) and the poses are pretty nifty, but their movements and actual animation isn't that great (the wacky designs and witty writing make up for that). Then for the next few episodes they looked really bad, until they began to be more on-model again
AHHH IAMBIC PENTAMETER, I got an A in English by imagining Bullwinkle was reading my poem.

@Licmycat Blame HG Wells. (Note the Orson Wells-like character, and of course the unaffected New Yorkers.)

Two observations about the peasant in the fairy tale: 1) he is apparently voiced by Yogi Bear 2) He looks better as a toad.

Who narrated the cartoon? It sounds like Lorne Green.
