there tactic is to set shia against sunni to rally arabs against iran, so far they have only been moderately successful, as they also want to split iran. as smaller factions fighting each other are easier to control, and it gives them a pretext to set up permanent base in iraq. just as they did in iraq iran war, they sold weapons and gave satellite intelligence to both sides and this gave them a pretext to have bases in soudi arabia to protect them from iraq.

Obaid the reality is that the people who support Saddam today are those who benefited form his rule. as for democracy, it will ever work in Iraq, simply because its a western invention fundementaly different to islam which sees Allah as the ultimate legislator. islam is what the people of Iraq have in common and its the onlything they can be bonded on. Islam if implemented in its pure form, in totality gaves socitey and the individual all necesasary freedoms. Allah bless u 4 ur effort.

this was there plan all along, to divide and conquer or devide and rule as the romans called it is a very old trick that works very time. they thought they could do the same with iran, and thought the arab iranians would back sadam, which didnt happen. the west have been choosing the leaders of iraq long before sadam, you only have to read how sadam came into power after his meEting with CIA IN in egypt.
