You really need to give the background of each group. Example Dominicans & Puerto Ricans are different but have similarites as well. However Dominicans & Mexicans are very different. Argentinians & Peruvians are different. How about the story of the Afro Latinos as well U have Afro Dominicans which represents 80% of the population. YOu got Afro Cubans U got Afro Puerto Ricans. You also have indigenous stories as well & the Mestizo stories. It would take like a 20 part series & serious reporting

2nd I mean the Spanish were first in North America they settled Florida, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada, California. However the Indigenous ancestors have been here 10,000 years and not just 400 plus years and became Mexican citizens and some intermarried with the Spanish and share a rich tradition English, German or even Irish were actually the last to come to the Americas. 1rst English Colony was established in 1607. Latin is a Lenguage that originated in Europe Italy to be precise. This is why Latinos have European traits & share similar genetic features. I guess to put it simple a Latino could go to Spain, Portugal or Italy and be mistaken for a citizen due similar features. Example Sofia Vergara She could go to Italy, Spain or Portugal and blend in quite easy. Now if Sammy Sosa or David Ortiz went they would think he is African even Rosario Dawson or Zoe Saldana would be classified as African.

If you look at a old Roman maps they called Spain Roman Hispania If you take Italian and move around the letters you get Latin the language spoke by many of Romans territories.
