Funny thing is Microsoft knew about the virus before it was released yet left the Glitch in the windows program because they were to lazy to fix it, Shame on them... and David Smith did not write the Virus he was falsely prosecuted. It also was not named after a stripper. The thing I do not understand is why the Original Picture and document have not fully been released, also sent out at the same time were the Papa virus and the Mad Cow Virus which both had the same coding, just diff. Content.

Klez,Vundo(not as dangerous),Blammer, and by far the deadliest ever created was ILOVEYOU, it infected over 50 MILLION people within 8 days. It overwrote your hard drive hid media pieces and includied a program that managed to elude start up repair systems. It caused the british parliament to close all serivices and the Pentagon was also down. Insane amounts of damage.

(If you want to see it, go into 'More from onNeutral' And look for: In action: Greetings card/Keygen/Crack Batch File trojan) I acuallt think that the less damaging ones to your computer can be more dangerous because of the publicity the big viruses/worms/trojans get. Literally EVERYONE knows about the Ilove you worm because there was a huge strike, so no one would open it.

Definitely not the one of the most DESTRUCTIVE viruses ever created, but it was VERY widespread with the inability to control it.

That's what made it so bad. Just one infected system could go on to infect thousands of others.

Melissa was the first proof of concept macro virus, I believe. It set the path for a flood of new macro viruses and varients, including some varients of Melissa that would delete files and destroy data on your hard drive. This particular varient does nothing more than display text, but others can cost you time and money.
