blossoms floating on the face of the lake marks the watery grave of the fair Ophelia
currents moving moats that fly between the light dancing thru the sound of angels singing aloud and rushing on and on. ??? Flowers falling into the rippling lake covering the evidence of the fair Ophelia
Humming ringing whirpools moving roots of white, weighing down limbs in velvet sinking down and singing on and on
you know i was thinkin about all these genres and sub genres... ive come to this genius conclusion... WHOTHEFUCKCARES LABELS ARE FUCKIN BULLSHIT LOLLLLLLZZZZZZ
You children are too poorly educated to be allowed to classify songs of this sort. Please dive toward concrete when next contemplating sharing your thoughts on the internet. No; I mean it. Dive directly toward concrete; it will be of greater use to the species.
@solononame ethereal is goth fyi its a subgenre of darkwave which is goth. so the goth record labels even promote that genre so how can you tell me it isnt. listen to the bands like lycia and autumns grey solace thats straight up goth fool
they don't have videos for those, there might have been plans for one for 'Pandora', but it never got made, I do have some raw footage of their photo shot session for 'In The Garden' but the video tape is damaged.
I thought that this band was originally from Fresno, CA. I knew this guy that used to work at All That Video (a movie- rental place) in Visalia, Ca, and he had several pics of himself with the band and he told me they were out of Fresno.
i remember getting really into this band in high school after hearing one of their songs on a cleopatra records sampler. it's a shame there isn't any more music like this in the goth scene these days. . .
This is the kind of earthereal music that was mixed in when I was a goth club goer.I may have heard them and didn't even know it.I wish there was more music like this as well.
Lydia has such a beautiful voice. I used to play her CDs at night just so that I can go to sleep. I also ran into her a few times when she was working at Hot Topic in Fresno. She was very pleasant person and very down to Earth. I hope she is doing well.
Lydia now teaches a bellydance troupe in Fresno. The group is called Tanjora, and I believe there are a few vids on here of her dancing if you search for "Tanjora".
I thought I'd never see these videos again! I lost my VHS copy Lydia had made for me. There are some great out-takes from these vids as well. What a surprise! Cheers
Thank you for the Shroud videos, I am on a chat/mailing list about them on which people talk about their videos and I have been longing to see them! They are as wonderful as I thought they might be.
I remember this band's first show. In fact, I remember before they were The Shroud. Who said that good gothic music never came from the Central Valley of California?
I don't think they did any videos other than the couple from their first demo release. At least I haven't seen any...
yes they were called The Shroudettes and there is a video of one of there first performances... but even years before that there is a performance of the singer Lydia doing cover songs of Siouxsie at a HS talent show. I call that group 'Nothing Obscene', If I find that tape I'll try to get it on here.
That would be awesome to see the tape with Lydia from HS on it!!! I remember going to one or two Shroudettes shows. I think I even had a sticker on my car. That was a good time in my life.
I am in love with her voice. <3
