  • Not really sure Anna Manioka what you are saying here??????

  • This is redeclious , that has nothing to do with uterine contractions or cevical relaxation/ Women should go to a dance club when thet have pains ,not going to the hospital

  • Excellent explanation. Thank you.

  • There seems to be a lot of interference coming through - so I'm not quite following what you are saying.

  • I had a baby one year ago. Watching this video, I just wanna be pregnant again and try this! So beautiful! :)

  • Thank you so much for posting this, it's a beautiful video! I'm pregnant with baby #5, and definitely been doing the bellydancing this time.

  • very convincing, and also, very beautiful!

  • Lovely talk. Thanks for posting this!

  • Wow this is cool. I didn't how belly dancing could work with a pregnancy. Her voice is so soothing, geez.

  • omg, hey there Maha :) So keen to get the new DVD by Maha

  • I have been bele dancing since the 80's and have have 5 home births utilizing the movements.

So many traditional birthing rituals of 1st world women have be lost to commercialism, reduced to being viewed only as a dance entertainment, and the desires of men.

It is good to see the younger generation carrying on the tradition of such a sacred ritual. :)

  • p.s: i love this "the audience is within" yes dance for your baby!

  • Thank you for adding this video. I have heard the origin of middle eastern dance before but this time round i'm pregnant! I am sure going to use any means to help with labour : )

  • Hi Maha, Ann-Marie here. For those that don't know I am a belly dancer and danced all the way through my pregnancy and used figure eights and circular movements through my labour which helped with the pain. My baby turned out beautiful and she now loves hearing belly dance music.

  • @aaliyahraks What a beautiful story! It is really inspiring to hear that such a magnificient artform can bring a new life into this world. May your days be filled with happiness and your life be filled with peace and tranquility.

  • this is really interesting! I knew some parts of the history of belly dance, but this does make sense now when you put it all together. they dont tell you in online articles about the hip movements and how they're related to birthing, they just say they're related. thank you for helping me clear this up! :D and i'll have to remember my belly dance moves for when i have my children.

  • im convinced.. i have had 3 kids and am due with my 4th... the movements make so much sense...

  • it sounds ogical but for the most part i think the teacher is approaching the matter from a psychological point of view. She talks in a very sophisticated and philosophized manner and that's even makes us think of more sense of the video!!!

  • that's beautiful, and must feel so freeing for pregnancy!
