@Siberian68 It's the clip that's obscure, not the song, as I was explaining to someone two years ago when I first posted it. I think his comment has dropped off the radar now.
A strange imbalance between a sweet passionate violin part and a completely dispassion somewhat rushed delivert from the songwriter... like she doesn'y care any more.... then a sudden violent ending. All deception, a bit like life? A very considered and measured piece od perfomance-art.... or is it? Love the enigma. She was probably never this good again
**** throws me back a million years... 17yrs old, first girlfreind kind of thing. this song is stunning. I met her years later at a showbiz party. things change. However, this remains - is incredible. a gorgeous song.
first heard this song on Tv from a concert they'd recorded, one of the most beautiful things I'd ever heard, she had such a soulful voice and such simple music went so well with the song. Hope you've had a great life Tanita.
Hey man, thank you sooo much for posting this!!! I'm a huge fan of hers since I was listening to her first record back in the 80s... and this one is still touching and just perfect and always will be. Cause it reaches a place within the heart that could never be changed. It's like a neverending love for someone who will never be forgotten, nevertheless how much time will pass. Just take a look at the impression of her face and you know what that song is all about...
eyes closed, thorghts on the song, just a violinest, a guitar and her deep velvet voice..this song ment so much to me when i was 19/20..some twenty years ago..bless you tanita..
Yes, it's extremely obscure, having been shown at around 1am on a minority channel IIRC. I've just transferred it from a VHS tape that's been sitting in my loft for years. I was a huge fan of Tanita's in my late teens and early 20s - not so much now, although I still like a lot of her stuff.
she has such a deep and rich voice. She is so underrated, wich is a shame. I think I like this version better than the album.
