Humm... this is not a accurate game, never will the space shuttle perform a booster release like that.. If ya really wanna learn some about space and the sts missions go for Space Shutle Simulator 2007, very accurate and alot more a "simulator'...

I think you'd be surprised just how many stars you can see with the naked eye when there isn't an atmosphere in the way. You just don't see them that often on pictures because they're set to expose the subject (be it the Shuttle, ISS, Earth, Moon/whatever) properly, not the background.

I added a cool rocket sound!! All I did was download a video of a real rocket launch, convert to Mp3, and I play it when I launch. =)

Hey all, I dunno if this will interest anyone, but for those of you interested in orbiter, I am making some tutorials and video tutorials for complete beginners. These tutorials are how I learnt to use orbiter and I can pretty much do anything now :D

Anybody watch the space shuttle launch? After watching, I now realize what Orbiter is sorely missing: All the scheduled communications from mission control for each launch milestone. "Endeavour roll program!" "Go at throttle-up!" "Single engine press to MECO!" This game (not a game!) would be a lot more fun with the simple addition of those.

@kurtjmac There is a mod called Shuttle Fleet 4.7 that adds all of the Shuttle fleet. The documentation that comes with it links to a sound mod for the ships, with appropriate callouts. Combine this with the International Space Station mod, and you can literally build the space station piece by piece.

The modding community has nearly any mod you can think off, they have not let me down yet :D Ill post a video response if you want, showing the sounds.

@kurtjmac these sound effects (ground to air transmissions, etc.) are available as add-ons to the sound package. I have the ROLL PROGRAM, Go at Throttle-up, and abort option calls all set up to come up at the correct times.
