  • padre pio really seems to have been possessed by Jesus Himself whenever he encounters and fights demons through exorcism. and that's why he seems fearless to paranormal and demonic entities.

the power of the holy spirit dwells in him. and of course, how can demons or even Satan bother him...

THE GOODNESS FOREVER REIGNS OVER EVIL!

  • I watched this video. I never heard of Farther Padre Pio,and i was very moved by this film. I still watch bits of it,because it`s a film with no action, and to understand the person more

  • un personage que dio mucho amor

  • My confirmation saint is Francesco Forgione And just reading about him has been changing my life, and my perspective on life.

  • Thank you so much for uploading this!

  • Grande San Pio da Pietrelcina!!!!!!!

  • Weird that he was the actor of the antagonist in The Chronicles of Narnia.

  • These comments are absolutely hilarious. Thanks for the laugh, guys.

  • That actor at the beginning who goes and visits Padre Pio is the angel in The Seventh Sign with Demi Moore. Is this movie originally in English? I thought it was in Italian until I noticed their lips not in synch with the dialogue.

  • @bregwin Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

  • For those of you who did not know, it is possible for us lay people to become members of the religious orders. When for one reason or another, marriage, debt, sin, we are not able to enter into full religious vocations, as Priests, Nuns, Brothers, ect. there are orders called Third Orders, fully sanctioned by the Catholic Church. In these orders we study for 4 years, mostly at home with a spiritual director. God willing, we then take vows and live as the religious live, but in our homes.

  • PRAYER To SAINT PIO

PRAYER O God, You gave Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, capuchin priest, the great privilege of participating in a unique way in the passion of Your Son, grant me through his intercession the grace of .......... which I ardently desire; and above all grant me the grace of living in conformity with the death of Jesus, to arrive at the glory of the resurrection. Glory be to the Father ...(three times)

  • Why is everyone so serious? I thought "a sad Christian is a bad Christian"

  • @franciir Yes, that is an interesting question. I cried through a lot of this film. We call the Lords crucifixion his Passion. I cry at the Passion and I cry at communion during mass. So why the tears? It is an awareness, to some degree, meager as it is, of the Lords love for us mingled among our sins. We see how much Padre Pio hated even the smallest sin. Maybe it is not sadness we feel but sorrow and love that we are the cause of his pain as we are the cause of Christs pain. Does that help?

  • PADRE PIO WAS A CHARLATAN!

  • I saw the two movies also the one with Michelke Placido and tis is a real ovie, the one with Michele Placido seems more propaganda ways of acting than a real movie.

  • I can understand faith guys and respect your comments but do mind that this is a MOVIE.

Speaking of movies, Castellitto is one of our best actors but there's another movie on Padre Pio played by Michele Placido that shows Padre Pio in a different way I also recommend you to see: /watch?v=isX7kNSl9A4

Perhaps you can find the subtitles... can't help you with that. :-(

  • I love this film. I have seen so many times and I still learn about Padre Pio. I love the music. Can anyone tell me where I can find it.

  • @chichiaris You can buy the DVD on Amazon.com. Title: "The Miracle Man".

  • @chichiaris Could someone please tell me the name of this awesome music? I am going to purchase the movie immediately.............Awesome, spiritual and so moving...........

  • Rooted in Christ, Firm in the Faith. This describes the Saint I deeply admire

  • A truly brilliant film about the life of a wonderful Saint. What a great movie in this day and age of our usual trash TV…. It’s a real pity that it won’t be shown on TV over here; there are a lot of people in the world who would benefit from watching this fantastic film…I will make sure to advertise it as much as possible to all my friends and family. Thank you for Uploading it.

  • I too have seen this movie a few times. This man changed my life! He "led" me to the Gospels. His story made me BELIEVE they are the Truth! His story is a big reason (but not the only one) that made me decide to join the Catholic Church in 2001 at the age of 31 !! I LOVE GOD!! I LOVE THE CATHOLIC CHURCH !!! VIVA LA PADRE PIO !!!

  • @neptuneeyes ehhhrr what exactly is this truth???

  • the devil really hated him so much because he was blessed by God and guide a lot of souls in the right path

  • There are many saints that gave us an inspiration to do Christ's work! I hope that after watching this movie, you guys will be able to realize something and perform your tasks as servants of the Lord. Do not just praise this movie because it was magnificently done by the director, production staff and the actors. Let this be an inspiration and an eye-opener to each and everyone of us. God bless to you all! :D

  • I love You, Father Pio.. but I can't!!

  • @Ylenia107 Amen!

  • The Name of this movie...is Paolo Buonvino soundtrack!

    Padre Pio bless you!

    Pax et Bonum

  • @Lovefm100 May our lord Iesu Kristus be with you and all true faithfull

  • My God, the greatest of humanity dwells in those who seek to become the least ...

  • This is a beautiful movie about my Patron saint! I just love it!!!

  • An excellent film. Sainthood must a difficult subject to portray, to "get right." But Castellitto has succeeded in making Pio's humanity tangible by touchingly revealing his honest if, at times, gruff, peasant nature. Padre Pio was a truly phenomenal example of 20th century sainthood and one of whom it may be said, like his Master, Jesus the Christ, "Behold one in whom there is no guile." No "guru" comes near.

  • Gracias por los favores concedidos

  • This man was truly outstanding and his prophecy about the end of times do talk about the 3 days of darkness. I am in awe. Thanks for sharing.

  • Simply wonderful, beautiful film.

For some reason, I'd missed the point on what a blessing the saints are. Since watching this film, I understand.

    Thank you so much.

    And thank you, Padre Pio.

  • Padre Pio did fight the devil in his bedroom thats how he got the holes in his hand and in his chest. He asked his guardien Angel to help him. And his wounds closed up when he died in 1968. God told him to fight the devil. My granny told me the whole story.

  • Modern City Entertainment is seeking funding to produce a major motion picture based on the miraculous life of Padre Pio. The intention of this film is to accurately and historically portray part of the life of Saint Padre Pio. Currently we have a well researched and written screenplay based on interviews at the Vatican as well as visits to his birth place in Pietrelcina and San Giovanni Rotondo just to name a few.

  • We have an Academy Award winning cinematographer attached as well as interest from several A-list actors. If you or anyone you know have any insightful suggestions or interest in investing in this iconic film please contact us through our youtube account.

  • Risposta a my Fabio...

  • Padre Pio è sempre solo Padre Pio!!! uomo e santo eccellente

  • @profozza In effetti quasi nessun grande uomo viene capito dai suoi contemporanei.

  • Thanks Bregwin, altho I have watched it before, I cant get enough of it. God bless ya!

  • Keep loving it. Pray 4 us Padre Pio.

  • I would love to buy this movie, with spanish subtitles, if someone knows where I can find it please, I"m in Australia NSW at the moment, Thanks !

  • @vannia3000 try amazon.com

  • bellissimo fil bravi attori...

  • Thanks for uploading this movie.

It's the one of the best I've ever seen. I just purchased the DVD and I'm sharing this with everyone I know. God bless,

    DJE

  • Thank you for uploading this great movie.

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!

I like the opening song very much as well. Anyone knows what it is called?

  • I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!! made me cry, :):)

  • @AndrEwsskon Me 2. I've asked God the same questions as at the end of this segment. Powerful. Powerful.

  • I want to take this time and Thank You for posting this movie. I have purchase this movie, so moving. Thanks to you , others will see the works and life of padre pio.

  • i know its great!!!!!!! by any chance do u know what the music is called in the movie?

  • Excellent!

  • bellissimo film...

ci aiuta a capire tante cose..

  • Ah si? E cosa?

  • @Giona3

    No coglione.. parecchio coglione!!

    Pace a te.

  • I'm a mystery even to myself!!!

  • Nice work! English subtitles, too! Your next assignments, bregwin my friend, are to procure:

    1) Francesco, starring Mickey Rourke as St. Francis of Assisi and Helena Bonham Carter as St. Clare.

    and

    2) Teresa: El Cuerpo de Cristo, starring Paz Vega as St. Teresa of Avila.

As an aside, has Jurgen Prochnow ever played a character who wasn't a prick, a Nazi or both?

  • Are you joking? because that is a bad joke mickey rourke yuck...

  • It's not as crazy as it sounds. The dialogue is in Italian, and the intended audience European (which is why it's so hard to find a copy here in the States). To accept Rourke as St. Francis, European viewers would have had to overcome fewer prejudices. They would not, for example, have remembered him as the guy in Diner who stuck his dick in a popcorn box.

  • google Mickey Rourke as St. Francis of Assisi its there

  • francisco

  • arigatou! God bless you thank you for posting...

  • Thats the pope right! John Paul ll in the beginning.

  • No. Its not John Paul II. I am not sure who the person shown here is, it might be the Prefect of the congregation for Doctrine of Faith. The ban imposed on Padre Pio was on 2 June 1922 by the Orders of the Holy Office (now called Congregation for Doctrine of Faith) and it was lifted in 1933 by Pope Pius XI. St.Pio died in 1968, the Pope then was Pope Paul VI. John Paul II was the one who canonized him as Saint on 16 June 2002.

  • the priest at the beginning is an invented character, created to keep the plot together.

  • @calito0010

No. The priest at the beginning is basically the movie's attempt to give a face to the persecution that Padre Pio suffered. He's not a pope. At the time, John Paul II was known as Karol Wojtyła. He appears later in the movie, however.

  • His parents made a living as peasant farmers. He was baptized in the nearby Santa Anna Chapel, which stands upon the walls of a castle He later served as an altar boy in this same chapel. Restoration work on this chapel was later undertaken by the Padre Pio Foundation of America based in Cromwell, Connecticut His parents had two other children who died in infancy.

  • Francesco Forgione was born to Grazio Mario Forgione (18601946) and Maria Giuseppa de Nunzio Forgione (18591929) on May 25, 1887 in Pietrelcina, a farming town in the Southern Italian region of Campania.

  • St. Pio of Pietrelcina (25 May 1887 23 September 1968) was a Capuchin priest from Italy who is venerated as a saint in the Roman Catholic Church. He was born Francesco Forgione, and given the name Pio when he joined the Capuchins; he was popularly known as Padre Pio after his ordination to the priesthood. He became famous for his stigmata.

  • Padre Pio is great

Pace e Bene.

  • Padre Pio is awsome, he desrves to be a saint

  • Padre Pio is indeed awesome, and was declared to be Saint Pio of Pietrelcina by Pope John Paul II in 2002.

  • Thank you for posting; I am in a position where I cannot buy a copy of this DVD (region imprinting), and I truly appreciate this!

  • What a wonderful movie about a truly womderful man. Thanks for posting with subtitles. This is something everyone should see at least once.

  • May the Lord bless you for putting this video of a good and holy priest. In 1979, my wife saw him praying for me at the foot of my bed. She woke me up and described a man in monks clothing with a white beard. I could not see him .. but she describe him. It was months later when we saw a photo of Padre Pio; she told me that he was the priest that was praying at the foot of my bed. You have brought back many memoirs of love and suffering.

    John

    Fredericksburg, Texas

  • Padre Pio, pray for us. We need it!

  • I think Padre Pio watched over this movie ..

  • God bless you for what you made!

  • thank you for posting this with english subtitles god bless

  • Thank you!

  • Excellent movie!! I've seen it about 4 times and each time I watch I cry!

  • This movie has deeper inspired my vocational discernment to become a Capucin. I am jealous of how much this simple friar loved the Lord.
