I am doing as instructed but when I make the circle, I never finish it. My pieces fall off and it is very frustrating. Also, when you make rows, how do u know when u finished a row? Please answer.
@BamItsMisaki if the pieces fall off then the paper might be too slippery. either find paper with better grip or glue the pieces. you know when you've finished a row cos the row would be full. Like the row would be empty at first, then you put pieces on all around, and when you come to the end, you put the last piece on to fill up the last gap and then there'd be no more space in that row
Where did you go to, to get coloured printer paper? I've raided every office supply and art hobby store but I still can't find some in bulk! PLZ ANSWER CAUSE I WANT TO GET STARTED ON MAKING THESE!!!!!! Thank you:)
@randomcrafter2000 stationery shops. its a basic item over here (newzealand). They sell them in bulk in shops that have computer stuff, printers, and packs of printer paper, then there should be packs of coloured printer paper as well. its expensive like $20 and over per pack so if you dont need that much (cos it'll be over hundreds to get a variety of colours) just get smaller multicolour packs
hey jewellia7777 so i don't know why but my base won't turn out right so i haven't been able to even start my projects because for some reason every time i connect my last two pieces together it all just falls apart or it makes a really odd shape and then it falls apart when i try to stack more units together :[ help me please [ i know what i wrote was really hard to understand im sorry :[
hi i have a question, when i try to make the circle base or try to put the triangles together it is very loose and keeps breaking apart.what is the problem?
@jewellia7777 What type of paper do I use? I try to use regular printer paper but it keeps falling apart. Why type of paper are you using in the video and where do you buy it?
if i want to make a base with these pieces, they always spring in a circle, when i have connected 5 pieces ore more. i always have to pess them together? is this normal? and the openings at your 3d parts are so big and look like circle and my openings are so small and it's hard to connect the parts with each other :( please help!
how do you make the circles on the pieces? I made the ones that open up, and have two flaps, also from your first beginner session. Thank you! Great Vids.
One question, why is my base kind of spiralling instead of going straight like yours is (i used the pairs of three way for the domo, i also used printer paper). plz answer.
@10sylv10 it does that sometimes, it just depends on the way you insert it. its more likely to spiral with pairs of 3. try pairs of just 2 units like in my old vids. I just started using pairs of 3 cos ppl say its easier for them/less likely to fall apart. but if you can do it with pairs of 2 then try that and it might be a bit straighter. overtime u get used to connecting the pieces more properly and it will get neater
I have a small question, how come the sticks are so expensive? Are you the only one doing it? And one more question, where do you get multi-colored computer paper? I found a big pack of all sorts of colors at Micheals, but it was fifteen bucks! I want to find indivisual colors, it would be cool if you can tell me where.
@GreatGwen because it wouldnt be worth the time making them if I sold them even cheaper. and then too many people would buy and I'd have too much to do, and I'm already busy. I live in NZ so my shops are different
Im having trouble keeping all the triangles in, Im trying to make a base, but I can't do that when all the triangles are sliding around! Can you help me out?
@PasonPop if the pieces slip the paper is probably slippery. you'll just have to glue it or find paper with better grip. some people glue the 1st 2 rows and the rest stays
@reeroo89 I use both. cardstock is stronger and has more grip, so I guess thats better but printer paper is light on the hands/ easy to fold. both are good
@TheLegomannick uhhh ok lol, why tell me fuck you cos you cant do it? i dont really care, you're not asking a question and just stating that you cant do it. kinda pointless comment there
@jessiejip the paper is probably too slippery. try add the next row of pieces immediately as you connect the base. more rows = more stable. if it still doesnt stay, glue the 1st 2 rows and see if the rest stays. if not, glue the whole thing or find paper with better grip
omg i wud love to make it but those tiny points i might mess up andt throw it away in garbadge and my mom will see it and get mad at me for using all those papers
@KITTYLUULUU66 that doesnt make it different sizes, that just means the thicker ones pockets are open and the thinner ones arent. take the bottom half of the stick off and put it at the top to open the pockets
@PerryIsAPlatypus94 mine just easily stays together. put the next row piece on immediately as you build the base to keep the pieces together. more rows = more stable. if it still falls apart, get paper with better grip or glue the slippery paper
@CrafttyGirl yes i fold mine. i'm the only one i know of that sells prefolded pieces. you have to have paypal. go on my channel and theres a vid that plays automatically, about buying the pieces
@TheSilentOneHere yes. pieces stacked directly on top of each other, like in the main video displayed on my channel (the one that automatically plays)
@TheCh0c0lat3Cookie try adding the 3rd row pieces on as you go so you're making 3 rows at a time rather than 2. if it still slips then the paper is probably too lsippery (even if it is printer paper, some printer paper is still slippery. you just have to find paper that works)
@90JILENE cardstock. although I have some printer paper which has better grip than my cardstock and vice versa. cardstock is just stronger and stiffer but overall it depends which has better grip
@ArielleLuvsYa printer paper or cardstock, athough some still are (like 'leather cardstock') cos some ppl use printer paper and say theres still falls apart. maybe paper is different in different countries? i dunno, you just have to test different papers until you find one that works

Thank you so much Julia all day I was working on 3d origami but videos wouldn't help me your 2 origami beginner videos has helped me so much you are excellent:)
@jamesf00123 why "wtf"?? its just making the normal pairs with 1 extra piece so you're making the 3rd row as you go along. if you mean cos pairs of 3 is like wrong grammar or something (like it might be called triplets?), yeah its cos I'm just used to saying it cos i usually make the pairs of 2 pieces
@domantux15 same place you get paper. stationery shops or dollar stores (I live in NZ so I'd have different shops from you, so I dunno where specifically you can get it)
@littlepup21 from a stationery shop. I dunno which exact one since I live in newzealand and have different shops from you. just look in stationery sections of shops that sell paper, scrapbooking paper, craft stuff. and in shops that sell computer paper, books for school etc..
my paper is wausau paper and it sucks:( what paper do you use.

@jamesf00123 why "wtf"?? its just making the normal pairs with 1 extra piece so you're making the 3rd row as you go along. if you mean cos pairs of 3 is like wrong grammar or something (like it might be called triplets?), yeah its cos I'm just used to saying it cos i usually make the pairs of 2 pieces

littlepup21 1 year ago
@littlepup21 from a stationery shop. I dunno which exact one since I live in newzealand and have different shops from you. just look in stationery sections of shops that sell paper, scrapbooking paper, craft stuff. and in shops that sell computer paper, books for school etc..
