This wasn't just about a finished product at the end of the painting. it was about the process the physicality of the actual painting. it is sad that some people do not get Pollock
"Everyone of us can do a Pollack like painting", should be stated, " everyone of us can copy a simulated Pollack like painting." It is amazing how artists think they could of painted like this before Pollack's vision for his work was stamped into art.
@marktracyart - Everybody can indeed do a 'Pollock-like' painting, if that's how they choose to work. The important point is that they believe in what they are doing and express their own thoughts and feelings in the process. It's not then about 'copying', but choosing abstract expressionism as their preferred method of painting. Pollock devised a certain unique methodology as his work developed but might never have done any 'drip painting' at all had he been more technically adept.
Pollock did have a style in what seems like just throwing paint to one who doesn't understand art painting. In essence, Pollock did what all great abstract artists do...the only difference being he did it on a much bigger scale.
This is the what you get when you allow the group of nefarious social engineers to take over Culture and turn it into what they want. Culture and Art become nothing but a tool to turn our world into a sea of meanlingless, atheism and indifference. It's value is about of who promotes it, who sells and buys it, and what the "experts" say.
can draw good i enhereted it from jackson pollock he is my great great uncle ill put it this way he is my granpa john pollock uncle look at my art and stuff
@ptlofts go ahead and try to make it look as good as him. its a lot harder than it seems. the layering and how he lets it drip is hard to understand. but go ahead uneducated people, keep thinking Pollock is just trash and easy when most people barely have any artistic skills.
@darthhull85 "but go ahead uneducated people" First of all nobodys here is being rude like you and second, my coment was intended to say that he have shown us that if we use our creativity we can do wonderful things.
@ptlofts although it may be true that "everyone of us can do a pollock painting", (but try it and see that is difficult) what was important to have the idea of this kind of painting first of all.. watch a painting of roberto crippa or lucio fontana or paul klee.
Jackson Pollock. The greatest artist of them all. Fantastic. Thanks ciuffetto22, brilliant.

@ptlofts You're obviously not an artist. That's what you've shown us with your ignorant comment.
