U.S. oil production DID peak in the 70's. We currently use 20 million barrels a day and import two thirds of that. Not going to waste my time on part 2.
Look at the US and it's "war on terror" ploy for strategic oil positioning. If the mighty US won't put forth the massive research endeavor that will be needed to develop viable alternate forms of energy (not to mention the fundamental lifestyle changes evgery human must make). the world is too late to save possibly 5 billion plus of it's inhabitants. Yet people deny peak oil?
@acavideo ......you are right, that is 'IDIOTIC OIL PROOF''!!! search also AL BARTLETT , a great man! the secret of our next and irreversible crash is in the math exponential function and this is a fact not theory or catastrophism!

when peak oil is reached we will know after the fact, but it is a fact that it will happen. Simple common sense which this video seems to trash in order to make a point. Common sense please ....
If there's so much oil why are we going to all the trouble of drilling for it 5000 ft below the sea? Why are we importing it from all these anti-American foreigners? BUT, there is oil on Saturn's moon "Titan", (google: nasa oil titan). But whether it's fossil-based or abiotic it must be getting scarce on this planet, and the main reason is because we use so much, the world consumes 1 billion barrels of oil every 11 days, and demand is rising.
If peak oil was not real and irreversable, the US oil production would not have peaked in 1970 and fallen back to 1947 levels. That is a reigonal peak oil. Every region will have a peak that is not reversable. Add them all up, and you get global peak oil. It is history. It is fact, There is nothing left to debate. Global peak oil occured in 2008. The global peak is actually a plateau 5 years wide and about to slide down.
It has been proved numerous times that Oil is in fact abiotic. Large amounts have been found in the vacume of space. Not enough in 100 cubic miles to to fill your gas tank but last time I checked there were not many "space dinosaurs". Spent Oil wells periodically refresh themselves. The Alaskan oilfields, the one already discovered can run this country for over two hundred years at the present rate. The Wyoming field can also provide enough oil for the US for a similar time.
It's real simple. It's because the oil companies have bought up all their competition and they set the price. The oil companies also control in the large part the ecology NGO's "hippies" leadership.
Why are the oil companies supporting the Copenhagen agreement? Because of the money.
If you want to know what is really going on go to infowars then do your own research, and try to prove him wrong. Also, check out Lindsey Williams. The truth is seldom pleasant to know. best of luck to you.
@redgreen303 the USGS projected that there could be anywhere from 5.7 billion to 16 billion barrels of oil in ANWR. Let's say 16 billion barrels. The USA uses 21 million barrels of oil per day. 16 billion / 21 million = 762 days.
In 1920 the oil industry was in its infancy, there was simply not enough reliable data back then to determine when maximum daily oil production in the U.S. would reached. That doesn't change the fact that U.S. oil production did peak around 1970, just like M King Hubbert predicted.

Worldwide discoveries peaked in 1964, and 40 years later, in 2004 worldwide production reached a max production of 86 million barrels/day and has been around there ever since.
The facts are the North slope of Alaska has peaked, the North Sea has peaked, the giant Mexican Cantarell field has peaked, and probably Gwar has peaked.

It is usually more effective to lie with half truths than complete lies. BTW that was Pee Wee Herman going to the Alamo, not Dr. Hubbert. Farce is another effective tool of liars.
Dr. Hubbert was right on in his prediction of the US oil peak. There were about 40 years between the US peak in discoveries and the production peak. I've been in the oil fields of west Texas and New Mexico. I've seen what has happened.
In general, the reserves have "appeared" more than disappeared in the case of the Middle east, where several countries have inflated their reserves. By the way, US production DID peak in 1970-1973, matching Hubbert's prediction. Right now it's about 2/5ths what it was then.
Peak Oil is about as true as Global Warming. Both are tax scams. Period.

Then why is gas so high? And don't say because the hippies won't let them drill or because the jews are screwing us or anything like that.
