They were worldbest in geography, mathematic, medicine, nautic and astronomy, they wrote a lot of books and translated books from the ancient Greeks. At this time Central Europe had no cultur. Watch your hyperbole. Spears are one of the oldest known weaponry, and people on the Eurasian continent couldn't have survived without them. I'm sure the swivel-sail boat had multiple origins, so perhaps one version was invented in Africa and one in Arabia.
