  • Had a very similar encounter in Glacier National Park 2 years ago...I have pictures...your video was great. It took me back.

    Mike

  • Mountain Goat... would that be the same as a Capricorn? Horoscope speaking...

  • Hows the weather there? i hear its very rainy

  • @lechodemeista Its never rained when I was there, and I bin there plenty

  • you should have petted him, le goat tango dance.

  • the goat i so muscular damn

  • Absolutely beautiful. White as snow and so beautiful muscled. That slight cock of the head as the mountain goat probes you is priceless. What a beautiful earth this is (in some sense of the phrase, at least).

  • Lovely video - the goat is beautiful!

  • Nice!!!

  • that mountain goat is a BEAST

  • @videosoftheheart This is The Hoh River trail Mt Olympus near glacier meadows The Olympic Peninsula

  • That is right up there with one of the greatest experiences you could ever have.

Congrats on keeping your composure and getting such kewl footage.

    A truly awesome posting.

    5/5

  • @anavidhunter Thanks for watching and enjoying glad you liked the Video

  • Great video! I have seen the big horn sheep here, but never a mountain goat. Magnificent animal, but how unsettling. lol 5/5!

  • yes I didnt really know alot about the nature of these sheep, everything I had heard was about the bears, it was only when I was backed against the tree with a 2700 drop to the valley floor, and the goat looking me in the eye, that I wondered if they were aggressive

  • It is truly a great vid. It was interesting to see how unconcerned the animal was. lol For me the most scary encounter was a black bear in the mountains here. We came around a bend and it was on the opposite side of the trail. We stomped our feet and sang Christmas carols. :O) It looked at us and figuring we were tone deaf......then turned and wobbled down the side of the mountain. :O) lol

  • Can't believe he let you get that close. Not sure exactly what type this guy was. I heard they use to have Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep here in the Sandia Mountains next to Albuquerque, New Mexico. The ones I saw up in Montana would not let you get to within a hundred yards.

  • Its the same type as in Montana Oreamnos americanus rocky mountain goat

  • An amazing encounter! I can see why you might be nervous on that steep trail! He seems pretty gentle as animals go, but hi is in his element and wonders what the heck you are doing on his path right about lunch time. You'll be telling the people in the retirement communityabout this when you're 102....after you've gotten back from another one of your trips! Amazingly wonderful video! Seeing something in a zoo is cool and all, but you going on to their turf? Ahhh, that's quite another thing.

  • hmm at the time I was hanging on the ledge of a 2700 foot steep drop to the valley floor. It was when he got close that I though, hmm now what if he gets nasty??

  • It's amazing how unafraid it was of you. I can understand your caution. The scenery looked spectacular.

  • Thanks for watching I'm glad you enjoyed it

  • that is very cool!! I loved the goat . I had some friends who went to Washington and was traveling the country side. They were filming some landscape when off in the distance, a bear was crossing a field. The bear stopped, looked at them, then stood up on it's hind legs. LOL!! The friends decided it was time to go. :) excellent video.

  • thanks for taking the time to watch and for your comments
